Advantages Advantages Large screen, very capable of everyday computer tasks

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not for gamers, may be difficult for some to carry around

Among computer enthusiasts, Toshiba tend to get a tough time on account of not building effective systems - apparently. I've been a long-time PC user (and something of a fanatic to tell the truth), and this P100 is the first laptop I have ever purchased. So, without further adieu, let me dispel the myth of Toshiba's poor reputation. Firstly, mine had a fault straight out of the box and refused to start up, so it was promptly shipped back to Toshiba for repairs. It was a mere six days before it was returned to my doorstep by courier, fully functional and, unexpectedly, it had been cleaned and ... more

Advantages Advantages Screen Size, Nvidia Graphics

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not really Vista ready, build quality questionable

Ive had this laptop since September 2006, great specs for an XP machine, but no way ready for Vista. Build quality is fairly unsatisfactory on mine, battery has never worked and attempts of repair are met with sending them the laptop for uo to 4 weeks. Screen size is lovely and the 17" really makes a difference, its very pleasant to work with and can handle a nice range of resolutions. graphics card is mid range for what the laptop is really marketed as - I would personally look for an ATI x1700 laptop if you are looking for a cheaper Gaming laptop. Hard disk on mine leaves a little to be ... more

Advantages Advantages Great price tag, fantastic mid-range laptop with a low-range price tag

Disadvantages Disadvantages Quite Big, gets pretty warm underneath, hinges do start to crack after a while

I bought the Toshiba Satelite P100-347 laptop a while ago as a secondary laptop but it seems that this 'Secondary' laptop has become my primary laptop, why you might ask, well even though I got it second hand (and for a bargain price I might add) it does everything I ask it to do. I must point out that I don't play that many games on it, I leave those tasks to my Xbox 360 and PS3 to handle, but as a website designer, film, music and internet addict I couldn't be happier. With its Intel Core 2 CPU T7200 @ 2.00GHZ a piece and 2GB RAM as standard I can easily edit a website while surfing the ... more

Advantages Advantages powerful, Vista Home Premium

Disadvantages Disadvantages 4200 rpm harddrive, unidentify Geforce 7900 card, 533 bus Ram

It is obvious that this is the most powerful gaming laptop of Toshiba UK. Toshiba Satellite P100-286 is the replacement of its first gen : P100-347. Both have configuration, P100-286 doesn't have any improvement in hardware. However, updated with a new BIOS and new OS : Windows Vista Home Premium. The OS seems to work fine, sometimes there're still several bugs but they can easily fixed by updating on Microsoft website regularly. Being on the top of the line of Toshiba Gaming laptop, P100-286 comes with a very powerful laptop processor T7200 at 2.0 Ghz, 4Mb L2 Cache and Front Side Bus 667 Mhz ... more

Advantages Advantages Brilliant trubrite screen gives pin sharp image

    Disadvantages Disadvantages keyboard is tight

Recently upgraded from a Toshiba Satellite 2450 so slightly biased in favour of the brand which I've found to be robust and reliable. This baby is cuter in terms of the graphic capability especially with the 17" trubrite screen which gives a wonderfully clean image - definitely it's biggest selling point. It also has the DVD RW capability plus WiFi which are essential upgrade features. On the matter of upgrades, I like the fact that you can access the memory mode bay on the underside rather than a complex fiddle with keyboards to reach the RAM chips. Speaking of keyboards, this is my one gripe ... more

    5 Stars Quick review of Toshiba Satellite P100-208 - Core 2 Duo T5500 1.66 GHz - 17\ by Icelandic_007 09/09/2008
Excellent choice in the 17" laptops. This is a great laptop for watching movies and playing games with a crystal clear screen and excellent harmon kardon speakers. It has a good Nvidia Geforce graphics gard so it's more than capable running games. This laptop is powerful and the keyboard is very convenient with a numpad. The only downside for me is it's battery life. It has 17"screen so it only lasts about 1 and half hour at average, you might extend it with lower brightness and less performance. But all in all, a great 17" laptop which is fit for school, ... more

Advantages Advantages lightweight and easily portable

Disadvantages Disadvantages battery life can be poor

Having bought one of these, i am really pleased with this product. It is very lightweight, which for me was/is a must. All the software was pre-installed so it was a case of switch on and go and the parts that did need setting up was easy. Toshiba have a fantastic after sales and supprt team and have been really helpful when i called them. Another great feature is that it doesn't crash on me if i have more than one application open as previously used laptops have. The price of this laptop was very competative, and you really do get value for money. I wish i had bought this one a long time ago! ... more

ESPECIALLY SUBJECTIVE PERCEPTION greatly he wanted to acquire precisely this model - during April - May in Moscow with them it was very napryazhenno. It purchased and I use in entire this period. Are below - impressions. Ry00-e2ya - recreation area noutbuk- dream? Does stand apparatus with such declared data of its money? In my view, to these two questions it is not possible to answer affirmatively. 1 reason - approach of noutbukov on platform Santa Rosa with 10 DX discrete videoresheniyami from Nvidia. 2 reasons - operating speed of device in the narrow tasks: working "heavy" photographs and ... more
