Advantages: Keyboard, Mouse, Screen, RAM all very impressive Disadvantages: DVD Drive
...I have owned a Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop for the last two years and recently bought a new upgraded one giving the old one to my dad. These laptops are in the budget range and provide everything essential for home and office computing.
Extremely reliable as i have had no hardware issues what so ever in 2 years. The casing is strong and the motherboard is not actually on the edge of the laptop casing which means any damage from the usual drops ... ...is excellent as nowadays everywhere seems to be a Wi-Fi hotspot.
The keyboard has a very crisp feel and very active response. The mouse pad is great also. And the 4 USB ports mean there is no problem if a external mouse is needed. The screen is standard 15.4 inch. Advantages: Robust, powerfull, portable and looks great Disadvantages: Battery life isn't as long as advertised. 2 1/2 hours max
...could take a few knocks. Toshiba have a nice feature that when the machine gets knocked it automatically moves the hardrive write & read heads to a safe position stoping your data being damaged or lost.
By the way anyone who was put off with Fan glitch problems with A100 models i will tell you now it's not on the A120.
My only complaints about this laptop is that the battery does not last as long as advertised you can get a maximum of 2 1/2 hours ...

Advantages: Extremely Fast in performing its functions, from the simple to the more taxing tasks. Disadvantages: with only a 15.4" screen and 100gb hard drive this is not for all.

The battery lasts for quite a few hours although I mainly use mine plugged into the mains.

(+) positive aspects include the speed, apperance/design of the laptop, and the enhanced performance. (-) i have a matt black laptop and it shows dirty finger prints.
