What a laptop!

Advantages: Cheap and Reliable
Disadvantages: Wireless connection not great

The Toshiba L10 is one of the best budget laptops around, and for the price you pay, it offers so much to keep you busy. The Toshiba L10 features an Intel Celeron M 360 1.4 GHz processor (400 MHz data bus) which can be upgraded to a faster Intel Celeron M 370 1.5 GHz should you choose to do so. I doubt you'd notice all that difference in speed and across the e-shops I've browsed there seems to be little difference price-wise between the 1.4 GHz ...
...IDE hard drive in the Toshiba L10 is either a 40 GB or a 60 GB hard drive. Again, this can easily be upgraded should this be too little. In terms of optical storage, you shouldn't have a problem. Although the write speed is quite low in comparison with the modern devices, 24x24x24, this is pretty reasonable for a notebook computer. I bought the model without the DVD writer, since I already have one in my desktop PC and have so far noticed no problems ...

Tosh is just about to have it's first birthday.

Advantages: great price, durable, great base system
Disadvantages: keyboard unreliable , sound quality poor

...recomended to me was the Toshiba Satellite Pro l10 and at just over £450 it was a snip. So I got the laptop home and gave it the once over, fine nice size not too big and not too heavy, although when I have it in the bag complete with spare battery compact printer and excercise books I feel like I'm giving my 16 year old son a piggy back. I must emphasize that this laptop is a good entry level laptop and you get what you pay for, in relation to ...

...to me rather than a Toshiba mistake. Looking over my laptop, the only thing I didn't appreciate was all the stickers over the inside (to the left of the mouse pad), there is a "Desiged for XP" sticker, and "Intel Inside" sticker, one "Bundled with MS OneNote 2003" and a final "Surround Sound" which personally I dont like (hense I removed the last two) I have recomended this laptop to other people who have been looking, Toshiba have many different ...

TOSHIBA PRO L10

Advantages: Build quality, easy to use
Disadvantages: 256MB RAM

Bought for £500 no less than 2 weeks ago, so I wasnt expecting anything special. Its not special, It is just a standard laptop of average specifications and usual features. It has wireless internet, nice clear screen, very reliable and its solidly built. That was all I wanted afterall. Unlike laptops which my mates have had it has never dis-connected from the internet, even used up the garden about 40 feet away. This I am very impressed with. Windows ...
...easy to use OS it is too. The laptop comes with a re-formatting disc should anything serious happen to your PC and a disc containing extra software should you wish to install more. This isnt a gaming laptop by any means but I have played titles such as MAFIA and Hitman Contracts on medium settings with no problems at all. I have installed 1 gig of RAM as opposed to the standard 256MB. The laptop is not as quick as I would like with only 256MB and ...

Wireless Internet access at an affordable price

Advantages: Robust yet portable, good design, sharp screen
Disadvantages: Built in speakers are poor

This laptop represents excellent value for a machine with built-in wireless facilities. The Intel Celeron M processor provides a good performance but like all modern laptops it does get hot. The DVD/CDRW feels a bit flimsy when opened and care should be taken to ensure that it does not get broken when the laptop is not on a flat/solid surface. The Screen display is crisp and clear. Comes with MS Windows XP Pro which is an excellent operating system. ...
...to replace my desktop PC but now want to use it anywhere in the house and have access to the internet. I use a D-link Wireless router to provide a signal all around the house and still get a strong signal quite a distance down the garden. With Broadband I get a very fast performance and have not experienced any connection problems as the signal is always good. If I want decent sound, I connect a pair of external speakers. This is ok when working ...

Good laptop for a tight budget!

Advantages: Nice looking, well built laptop!
Disadvantages: Not as good as its competitors

Ive had my laptop for 2 weeks now to help with my open university studying, and to be completely honest with you, I got what I paid for. Friends of mine spent a few hundred quid more than I did a got amazing machines. For the £600 I spent, I did get what I paid for: * 1.4 GHz Processor * 40 Gb Hard Drive * 256 Mb RAM * CDRW/DVD Drive * Integrated Wireless (not impressive!) * 15 in screen * And a few other bits and bobs The machine itself ...
...- word processing, but for the more modern games I'd advise you to get a better machine, as this one is a bit slow. My main gripe with this laptop is its integrated wireless. It annoyed me that much that I no longer use this feature. It may be the quality of the wireless system or the area in which I was using it, but it kept disconnecting quite frequently. To summarize, if you need a low budget machine for word processing, spreadsheets etc, then ...

This Is The Best machine ive ever had

Advantages: fast speed, nice looking,
Disadvantages: its just im not allowed to take it out of the house

this lap top is the best my dads ever had from work, its got every thing i need, windows xp, dvd player, a nice amout of ram 256mb the battery isnt the best with roughly 3 hours on it, but cos i cant take it out of the house its perfect, the processor speed is nice i think its roughly 1.5 which is lovely, the color of the lap is nice, mine is silver on the inside, and black on the out side with some silver, this lap top beats all, the advantages ...
...the software and the OS is easy for everyone to use, i love the speed it gets when its on the net when im downloading software and chatting on the net, i love this lap top, because my dad works for the council he gets to pick which lap top he wants, i went to the nearest computer shop and i trialed the lap tops and luckily i was able to find this lap top, and thankfully my dad was able to get it from work. i really do recommend this pc, the looks ...

Excellent value, mid range laptop

Advantages: Wireless internet
Disadvantages: heavy

I purchased this from the online store of a well known pc retailer for £100 less than it shows on here, and at the moment i've been nothing but satisfied. It works like a dream, and will run any programs i have tried on it. It's perfect for my university work, and of course the added bonus is the wireless internet, the usefulness of this i cannot even begin to profess. As the other reviewer stated, the internal speakers aren't great, but they're ...
...that good, but for the price, this really is the best you can buy. It's the typical black exterior with a silver interior, that is sleek, but maybe not stylish. However don't get me wrong, it looks great., i feel that effort has gone into other aspects rather than looks (which in a laptop is no bad thing) So you are looking at the basics: 15" screen 40gb hard drive 1.5ghz celeron processor 128mb ram 64mb graphics (shared with ram) Wireless ...
