I feel I should apologise to those of you who don’t like football but hey – I just read a massive review on a graphics card that bored the pants off me so I feel I can get away with this. I’ve always thought it a bit odd to write a consumer review on a football team, I’m thinking not too many of you are in the market for a premier league outfit and that anyone with a spare 100 million is going to be shopping in slightly different circles to the commoners. However, having been inspired by a recent review by Mr ‘Thespurs’ and a current revolution down at the ... more

It seems that at long last Spurs fans up and down the land have something to get excited about. Things are looking up at the Lane and I, like all Spurs are looking forward to next season. Tottenham Hotspur are under-going a massive transformation. They have recently appointed the current French coach Jaques Santini as the new first team coach. The arrival of Martin Jol, Santini's number two, has been confirmed. The new Sporting Director Frank Arnesen is thought to have been instrumental in the appointment of these two highly regarded figures. The arrival of these new faces, 9 months after ... more

Advantages Advantages History, Tradition, Attacking football

Disadvantages Disadvantages Poor recent history, financially weak

Being Jewish you'd think that this was the reason why I am an avid Tottenham supporter, not at all. My Father is a Liverpool supporter, the rest of the family hate Football and I was brought up in Sheffield where I was the one and only Spurs supporter in my School ! My earliest memory of Football is the 1980/81 F.A Cup final when my Father sat me down to watch the game with him, it was between Tottenham and Manchester City, almost straight away the game completely took my imagination but the superior ball skills and technique of Tottenham won me over and I decided to side with them. The game ... more

Advantages Advantages A great team to support

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not great of late

If you are not a fan of football then feel free to look away now. Still here, well I have been a football supporter for over 20 years and a Tottenham supporter for almost as long. Being female we were never given the opportunity at school to ‘mess up our clothes’ with a good old kick about in the park and had to stick to the more refined sport of hockey - as this did not involve attacking the oppositions side with studded boots, but a wooden stick instead. Being from Sussex the girls in my school also had to learn the rules of Stoolball - similar to rounders. Writing a review on a football ... more

I am writing this review because things of late have not gone so well with my beloved Spurs. Let me start with a bit of personal history. I was born in West Ham, lived in East Ham and was sorrounded by Hammers supporters, even my school colours were claret and blue. Despite this, I saw the glory that was Tottenham Hotspur, and decided to swim against the tide and support the Spurs. When I was going to see them at about aged 14 (1974) Spurs had just won the UEFA cup, two recent league cups, Bill Nicholson was our manager and they had stars like: Pat Jennings Martin Chivers Steve Perryman Martin ... more

Advantages Advantages New players coming through, versatile players, look in op.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not great in any section, old players, look in op.

When Glenn Hoddle came back to Spurs he said he wanted instant succes and wanted to win something this season. So he decided to bring in experienced, old players who can still play very good at the top level. And the new team are doing quite well but have had two bad results against Hoddle's former club Saints and the against Ipswich, they are currently lying in 7th with 28 points, Hoddle has also mixed the team around a little by giving young players a chance like Ledley King, Simon Davies ect. Though he made one strange decision in my opinion by selling Luke Young for 4.5 million to Charlton ... more

    Advantages Advantages Commitment and Passion

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Poor Away Record

Football is about Highs and Lows. Simple. On reflection not that simple, given that fans are the most fickle of judges. Spurs have in recent months gone from bad, to worse, to bad, to better, to on the verge of being quite good. Anyone familiar with the George Graham philosophy will know that his policy is to shore up the defences of his teams, then work on the rest of the team later. This has taken him (by his own admission) longer at WHL than he would have liked. However the corner has well and truly been turned. This is not a work of fiction by a blinkered fan, rather the opinion of a ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages In opinion

Tottenham have, in my opinion, quite a few good players throughout the squad and it is certainly getting stronger with the progress of the young players and with a few new signings they could be back up challenging for the top honours again. But who should figure in the team and who should fight for a place on the bench... Ian Walker A long servant to the club and seems to be improving inbetween the sticks. He has only made one appearance in the Spurs shirt so far this season due to the signing of Neil Sullivan in the summer. Ian, in my opinion, should be a first team choice as he has proved ... more

Advantages Advantages Reasonable pool of youth talent, fairly solid defence, Sergei Rebrov, useful knack of picking up players from lower leagues

Disadvantages Disadvantages More delusion of grandeur than Victoria Beckham,Ageing lineup, new owners unable to provide large investment required,Fickle and delusional supporters

As many who have read my opinions on Man United will know, I have the utmost repect for them as a team, whilst as I club I find them distasteful. Man U fans will be pleased to know that the team has won a personal accolade from me - one I never thought I'd see won from Spurs.Since I was young, every year, I write the 'ideal' Premiership League table (i.e what I would like to see at the top) this year for example the top six comprised, Leicester,Southampton,Coventry,Bradford,Charlton and Ipswich. For 13 years one name came at the bottom of the League without fail - Tottenham Hotspur. Whilst not ... more
