Advantages It doesn't leave my hair much worse off than before

I buy into the theory that it is better to spend money on things that stay with you than things you wash off, which is why I'll shell out more for moisturiser than cleanser, and why a styling product gets more attention from me than basic shampoo. I bought a Tresemme twosome because they do a decent travel sized range of 100ml bottles, so small enough to stash in a bag, but not so small you only get a couple of washes out of them. Tresemme is a UK brand founded by stylist Alberto Culver, himself working on hair for over 40 years. Tresemme have advertised continually for 'Salon hair' - so I gave it a go. ''Tresseme Moisture Rich Shampoo.'' After many attempts at finding the right shampoo, (vidal Sasoon, H&S, Timotei, Johnsons etc,) we thought this a go. Everyone knows the Tresemme brand and Adverts as they are everywhere promoting the product with a high regard that it could produce salon results every time; like many people I was wary of the product and thought it was being hyped up to generate more sales and interest, instead of focusing on the actually of the product and how it can help people who use it everyday. I never thought about purchasing Tresemme due to the prices and I simply though it was too hyped up. I received a sample of this shampoo and really liked what it did to me hair and so after using the sample then decided to buy a full size bottle so the trial size advertising obviously worked on this consumer. I colour my hair professionally at the hairdressers and although it is in fairly good condition it can always do with a bit of added moisture and this shampoo is perfect for that. Tresemme have their origins in salons and so to me this always makes me think that they are a good quality product and one that actually works on your hair. Disadvantages Huge bottle, Made my hair really greasy and full of dandruff

Okay, so there are multiple adverts out there saying that Tresemme shampoo makes your hair feel 'salon professional' so I thought why not give this a try? I purchased the shampoo and conditioner, each costing at about £1 (at Wise Owl) which is good value for a huge bottle (at a whopping 900ml each) that would last for quite a while. There is a downside to the bottle being so large! I can’t fit in on the glass shelf that we have in our shower which is where I normally put my shampoo so instead I had to resort putting the large (and heavy) bottle on the ground. Now before I used this product , my very long thick hair looked and felt like straw much to my dismay. So I was after out a shampoo that would give my hair some much needed moisture, and the just stepped out of a salon look, sorry that's Loreal. My hair used to be in an absolute state until last year, after having my daughter I never got a chance to visit a hairdresser and didn’t fancy a mobile one coming round here. After chopping most of my rubbish hair off last year, she recommended I use Tresemme to keep my hair nice and healthy so off I popped and bought both the shampoo and conditioner. Decent shampoo with a low price tag 15/05/2011

Disadvantages not as good as some other specialist shampoos

Actually, the title to my review is rather misleading, as Tresemme Vitamin E Moisture Rich Shampoo is a good value product, but despite the fact that its makers sell it as a professional-level hair-care product (indeed I have seen it in several hairdressers windows, thus backing up this claim) it always seems to be on offer at startlingly chap prices in the likes of Home Bargains and Superdrug (and in large, bulky bottles at that) making it seem like a budget product even thought by all accounts it in fact isnt. Generally a bottle of this will retail at around £3.99 for a substantial bottle of 'Salon Quality' hair shampoo. But what do you really get? My hair has been dyed many times and many different shampoos have failed to deliver the good with regards to keeping my hair shiny, soft and at the same time protecting my colour. But not Tresemme. The actual bottle is quite frankly HUGE compared to many other leading brands. Its taken me around 2 months to get through a bottle of Tresemme including its sister conditioner.
