    I've taken a look at the other opinions in this section stating what a good game Trickstyle is. Perhaps I'm missing something then because personally I think it's an insult to Dreamcast owners. Let's start with the good....it's a fairly original concept I suppose. Course layouts are pretty good - the chance to race through city streets, leap up or down flights of stairs, speed through subway tunnels and crash through famous monuments like Big Ben is a great idea.     The 'coolest' Dreamcast game ever? Well I think it is definitely in contention - as this game is SO smooth - and slick. the Visuals are absolutely amazing - even though this was one of the first DC titles! I have to say that the gameplay is also up there with the greatest games - as this hoverboard fest is a mix between tony hawk's skateboarding and well a snowboarding game! The controls are dead simple to use, and the game boasts loads of options and characters as well as great VM games - also the music is pure class. A worthy purchase. It is soon to be released on Playstation 2 I believe so ... more

    Advantages Advantages Fun, fast, original and varied. Great graphics and soundtrack.

    Despite being much overlooked and recieving mixed reviews, I think this is an excellent game. Slick graphics coupled with varied and inventive gameplay make it great fun to play and pleasing on the eye. Three types of character, a brutal twist to the gameplay and loads of tricks add plenty of variety to the races. There are two types of event, racing in one of three settings (UK, America and Japan) or stunt-em-ups in the velodrome. The futuristic setting looks pretty cool, and it has a good soundtrack.     Trickstyle was released a year ago when the Dreamcast first came out. It is a " futuristic - skateboard - type - game ", that about describes it best ;) It showed off exactly what the dreamcast was capable of with its extremely impressive graphical engine which ran at a very fast frame rate. Putting the technical things to the side this game is VERY fun and very challenging and now that it is available for under £10 in some places you would be mad to leave it out of your Dreamcast collection.     Those of you that ever used to read 2000 AD (or watched Back to the Future) will be familiar with the concept of surfing with a hoverboard. Hovering a few inches above the ground whilst rocketing around at speed is an exciting concept, and has plenty of opportunities for risky stunts and impressive visuals. Despite that though, at the end of the day it's just a skateboarding game with a gimmick. Or is it?     I recently bought a copy of trickstyle from my local computer game shop at a bargain price. I placed it into my dreamcast and was pleasently suprised at what I found. The packaging describes itself as a "Stunt based hoverboard racing" which is a generally fair term. You take part in stunt competitions/races on hoverboards similar to those seen in back to the future. There are a variety of moves you can perform in the game, a large selection of cool characters and different boards to pick from.     Every site I have been to gave this game the worst rating. I bought this game because a friend said he played it and it was really cool. He had bought it too(because some reason there is no where to rent dreamcast games here). Yeah I admit for the first two weeks I was up all night playing this game, but after I had completely beat the game, including all challanges and yes, even japan race 5, It was the most boring game ever. I suggest rent the game a couple of times and that should be enough time to beat the game. But definately don"t buy it. Gameplay: If you have a brother or sister at home ... more

    Okay so its good on the PC but is it any good on the dreamcast.Well basically no. Sorry but this game just doesnt have the feel of the PC version. The graphics are okay if not quite as nice as the PC version and the frame rate is a little choppy at times. However this wouldnt be to bad were it not for the controls which are appalling. Once I got the hang of it, I failed to complete task one and only won up to race two and I usually complete most games within hours. Frustratingly hard and theres not much to the game after all the effort. Dont bother with this one. ... more

    Style, speed, psycho-stunts, spectacularly slick graphics.... the list is endless. Trickstyle is one damn good game. You get the fast action of Wipeout but without the polygonal, blotchy graphics; and added to all that are the numerous stunts you can perform. However, although the game looks and feels great, the enjoyment is limited, because there are only 15 races, 5 set in the uk, 5 in the us, and the final 5 in japan.     In April year, after buying my Sega Dreamcast, I bought Trickstyle on the cheap. Now I know why it was cheap. The gameplay is a good idea, it is just poorly executed in this game. The HoverBoards are way to slow and if someone bumps into you, you are garunteed to fall off. The stunt section has to be the best part of the game, but yet again the speed of the boards limit the gameplay. I did however spend hours playing the little VM game and whooping you mates in the multiplayer races is fun. ... more
