Advantages: Saves humping that old board out Disadvantages: none
The classic quiz board game Trivial Pursuit is claimed by the Website to be the most popular Trivia Board game in the world, and having googled here and there I can find no evidence to refute their claim. I know that I like the game although sometimes it can be a bit slow. Best played with a wee dram I think. Well the tedium associated with the set up and moving of pieces has been removed by the introduction of a PC version.
The software is published ... ...game. The graphics to the trivial Pursuit PC edition are adequate, well actually they are quite good, just not as good as they might have bee, there are thousands of questions and a status screen above each player will let them at a glance see which subjects are letting them down, by means of a small coloured bar which goes either positive or negative. The sound is courtesy of a rather pleasant sounding female, who informs whether you are correct ...

Advantages: fun, interesting, can play it alone or with others, good graphics Disadvantages: repetition of clips ands questions
Trivial Pursuit is one of my favourite board games, so I was really pleased to receive the CD-Rom as a present about a year ago. Unfortunately, it does not have the longevity of the board game.
The graphics are excellent, with the virtual board looking very much like the real one, along with the little coloured wedges. You can choose to play the classic game - where you play against others or just against the computer - or the fast-paced game, where ... ...the board. If you answer a question right, you get the wedge of that colour question.
So, the game is quite straight-forward and also easy to install, with a simple booklet explaining the details. I have already said the graphics are great and you know it is one of my favourite games, so just what is the problem with it ?
The answer is that it is repetitive. The booklet says you have to play "many" games, before seeing the same question - but we ...

Advantages: Trivial pursuit, without all the cards Disadvantages: Nothing that new
...what is included and does trivial pursuit work on the computer.
First, trivial pursuit. This was originally a board game, where answering general knowledge questions on History, Sport and Leisure, Science and Nature, People and Places, Arts and Entertainment and Wild cards, got you wedges. The idea was to collect all the wedges, by landing on the right square and then make it back to the middle of the board answer another question from a category ... ...so we have the standard trivial pursuit board game on the disc, what else?
Well there is Party Pursuit, basically a shortened version of the board game, where every question is for a wedge and you have to buzz in to answer. (You use keyboard buttons to buzz, so there can be fights). This version works very well with a few of your friends. If you buzz in wrongly on a question where you already have a wedge you lose it, so it gets fun, when you have ...

Advantages: fun, entertaining and informative Disadvantages: you may show others how thick you really are
Trivial pursuit Millenium Edition came bundled with my new PC and serves as an amusing diversion for myself and my family.
You can play this game on your own which is far healthier than a lot of solo pursuits it's best not to mention on a respectable site like Ciao!
No matter who we are or what walk of life we come from, we cannot resist anything that tests our general knowledge - and it's surprising just how much Trivia we can cram in our craniums ... ...the classic game works extremely well for those of us who are too lazy to set the board up and throw a dice - and, of course, if we are playing by ourselves, it's too easy to cheat when reading the question from the card (I would imagine).
So - what do you get with the PC version? I'll tell you. A nicely animated playing board in lovely 3D and a couple of annoying people who ask the questions and make irritating remarks. But then - that brings the ...

Advantages: good fun Disadvantages: long time to download
...games, when i came across trivial pursuit.
It takes a long time to download and for the board to get up, but when its finally up you will have fun.
The catergorys include art and entertainment, science and nature, sport and leisure, History, wild card and people and places.
You can play against people from all over the world, and it is really good fun. If you get a really high score you can also play for prizes.
Its really fun and i would recommend ...

Advantages: Very similar to board game, Educational Disadvantages: Repetitive
I love the Trivial Pursuit board game and was given this as a Christmas Present so was very pleased when i received this as a Christmas Present this year.
The game has excellent graphics. Each question has a video clip to go along with it and it has a 3D board to go with it, which is very similar (if not exactly like) the board in real life even down to the multi-coloured wedges you'd use in real life.
There are two different games you can choose ... ...the same as the game you'd play if you were playing it with a conventional board. You can play it as a multi-player game or by yourself

The Fast-Paced Game - This option doesn't bother with the board! Your just asked random questions chosen by the computer
In general this is a very good game and if you like the board game version of this you will like this. However, the game claims to have "over 1000 questions" but, even though Ive only had ...

I bought this as loved the board game and was expecting something wonderfull, however i was very disappointed!!
The game has the same concept but is soo slow, you just get bored, each question shows a clip which seems to go on forever!!
you then get a question that you decide is true or false and thats it!
you still get to choose catagories but it lacks the fun and sparkle of the original, with the one question answer.
it also seems to take ages ...
