Advantages Advantages Have your cuppa with next to no caffeine.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can be a bit more expensive than ordinary teabags.

The Brand & History According to their website Ty-phoo's origins are located in Birmingham. The founder of Ty-phoo was John Sumner. In the early 1900s John Sumner senior, now in his seventies, left the running of the shop to his son. The full history can be found at www.typhootea.com The Product The teabags are round and the same in appearance as the normal Typhoo teabags. In the 160 teabag box they come sealed in four separate foil packages with green writing. The teabags come in a white cardboard box promoting Sport for All and with part of a Union Jack flag along the bottom. Described as ... more

Advantages Advantages Tastes gorgeous, brews quickly, GVFM.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None really.

Ahh.... A nice cuppa char. Thats what my mum told me would solve any problem in the world. And I think she's right. Have any of you ever noticed that whenever something bad happens on telly, you always get someone saying 'I'll go and put the kettle on shall I?'. And do you know what they're making? Typhoo tea. Yes, it has to be the pick of the bunch Typhoo, it's just the right amount of tea in those teabags, so the tea isn't too strong, and isn't too weak. It's just right. And now Typhoo have come up with a decaffeinated version, well thats just even better. I'm partial to a nice cuppa in bed ... more

Advantages Advantages same old good tea taste!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

After drinking a lot of tea and coffee thought-out my day, I have noticed I am becoming quite dependent of the good old caffeine. I started getting headaches in the morning that would not shift until I had a mug or two of tea. So I thought enough’s enough. This can’t go on. I have tried and like decaffeinated coffee, so I thought I’d give the tea a try. I was walking around my local asda when I spotted the tea, after looking long and hard at all the different decaffeinated tea's one box just kept jumping out at me, it was ty.phoo, in a pretty pink box. Loving pink I thought this has to be the ... more

Advantages Advantages Brews a lot quicker than other decaf varieties. Tasty.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None.

I've tried a few different brands of decaffeinated tea but have found that Typhoo Decaffeinated Tea is by far the best. To get the same quality taste of regular tea, you do not have to wait around like you do with other decaffeinated Tea. The taste is very much like regular, but with a slightly sweeter taste to it. Per pack you get 40 bags, these are split into two separate sealed foil packets each containing 20 bags. I like the idea of the foil packets because the tea bags seem to last me quite some time, and by the time I have finished the first packet, the next bag will still be fresh. The ... more

    Advantages Advantages The conception

Disadvantages Disadvantages The "New & Improved" claim

I've just written an e-mail to Typhoo to complain about the sea-change they've made to what was an excellent product we'd bought since the very first days they appeared on the shelves - after putting the ubiquitous "New & Improved" tag on the packet. What a joke. From being a refreshing and light bright orangey-brown tea, with a real "pick-me-up" result despite the relative lack of caffeine, it's become a dull and muddy mink-brown, bitter-sour affair that tastes like dishwater (honestly!), and mostly ends up being chucked away - as has the remainder of the box now. Unfortunately, the taste ... more
