...As well as the CD, Ulead Video Studio 8 includes not one but two printed manuals. The first is a user guide to the software. This covers all the basics and helps get you up to speed quickly without being too onerous a read. Also included is a rather neat guide to Digital Video editing in general by Douglas Spotted Eagle (really!). For beginners this is a great read and Ulead deserve a big pat on the back for including this second book. System Requirements ... ...music generation system. At last, Ulead have added this feature care of SmartSound. And about time too. This feature really works well. You select a clip and a music style and SmartSound creates a custom piece of music of the exact length needed. The resulting music is usually surprisingly good, especially given that it gets created for a random period of time. It is also royalty free which is useful if you intend distributing your results.

Advantages: Produces great movies Disadvantages: crashes constantly
I make many movies with my digital video camera and I also transfer old VHS to digital. This product has some great features but it crashes every 10 - 15 minutes. As long as you save often, which you should do anyway, you will be OK. The other disadvantage is it takes a long time to load. So you are working, *crash*; now you have to wait for it to finish crashing, then you have to wait for it to reload. I've experiences this on two of my computers.
... ...software. They do come out better than Windows Movie Maker (which is free with Windows), but I wish it had a few features that WMM has. For instance; I'd like to see how large the movie file will be before I save it in a particular format. WMM has this option, VideoStudio 8 does not. You are left guessing whether it will be too large for others to view online until it's complete (which takes a lot longer than WMM also).

...creating a vcd again on ulead videostudio v.8. it worked!!!!! It is still working I have created many VCD without a problem. I ended up buying the software that helped me create my mpeg files from shareware: SUPER DVD CREATER V8.5 MPEG FILE CONVERTOR.
Ulead Videostudio v.8 is great ,you can create excellent special effects on both video's and photo's and you can add mp3 and wav music as well as sectioning your movie into parts so that you can select ... ...want to discard. You can add titles, overlays, control the speed of playback and add voice overs. A very good and straight forward editing suite . It's very user friendly and perfect for basic users. Just make sure your video and image files are converted to mpeg format before creating a movie. I still don't know why my movies don't playback at normal speed once they have been transferred to cd. I have constantly had to increase the playback speed ...

Ulead is a more complete solution that offers a better and simpler way to do a editing job on Video...
I use it partly on the professional side but I take full advantage of its abilities...
Creating great looking footage it is allways a refreshing thing to find a few tricks are thrown in with the package and for as little as £50 (that was the price I paid) for a full retail version even better...
