    A work cannot be much more original than this one. It is a marvel. Irrespective of whether you can understand it or not you have to respect the singular effort of the task which James Joyce set himself. The design is awesome and with the help of a good edition you will understand what his conception was. The language is another issue. I love the book and the idea behind it but I still can not understand more than about 6 words at a time and even that is a struggle. Give it a go, take 20 years if you must and don’t get held back by not understanding. Give it a go. ... more
