Advantages Advantages smells gorgeous, smooths hair

Disadvantages Disadvantages on its own does not really help to straighten hair as it says

For Christmas I received a set of mini’s within the ‘sleek and chic’ range of Umberto Giannini and was highly unimpressed with the shampoo and conditioner. As such I didn’t have very high expectations for this blow dry cream. I can’t say I’ve ever used a blow dry cream before and although I had low expectations I was still looking forward to using it to see if it made any difference. Price and Availability My set was from boots and looking on their website I can’t find my mini size (50ml) on there but the full sized product is 200ml and is currently £4.99 in boots. Boots currently have 2 for ... more

Advantages Advantages It smells nice and gives your hair some health

Disadvantages Disadvantages It so doesn't straighten even the curliest hair

After months of writer’s block, pure laziness, a new cat and starting the most amazing job in the world, I tentatively return to the fold and write about haircare. So be kind, people, I’ve been away for what seems like years. Pointless )’s are still in abundance, obviously, but there’ll be no more of the love/hate relationship with Asda that has dominated my op’s in the past. Asda who, by the by, have discontinued the veggie sausage rolls. Veggie sausage rolls that I have loved and bought by the bucket load and am in mourning for. But this’ll be the last I ... more

Advantages Advantages My hair becomes sleek and smooth

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can make your hair lank and unmanagable

Before My hair is naturally wavy. I can scrunch it with water and it becomes really curly. I'm forever trying products that claim to straighten your hair without the use of hair straightners. And do they work? 80% of the time, No. Why do companies make products that claim to straighten hair and don't? It's not as if we're going to buy them again or recommend them. But they still carry on lying! What is the world coming to? The Packaging The blow-dry cream comes in a funky silver metallic tube. It stands on the lid, which is a white transparent plastic. The writing is in black and easy to read ... more

Advantages Advantages Silky smooth locks with fabulous smell!!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Slightly sticky if too much used!

After years of hideously abusing my waist-length bleached blonde hair, I'll be the first to confess it's looking pretty frazzled!! Hence, I began trawling the shelves of Boots desperately searching for a product which would restore my Barbiesque tresses to their former glory! Then suddenly, one mundane Tuesday afternoon, a beam of silver light projected out from the darkness of the "hair-aisle" and saved my soul!! (Well, not quite! It was the sun reflecting off the silver packaging and my soul's beyond saving!). Yes, I had stumbled across Umberto Gianni's sleek and shine blow dry creme ... more

    Advantages Advantages REALLY WORKS

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can leave hair greasey if you use to much

I have always had trouble trying to find a cream/spray to help keep my long straight and sleek..............however I finally found one that does what it says it should. Umberto Giannini Sleek and Chic blowdry cream is the best one I have tried yet, it does exactly what it says it should. It is a super strength straightening balm that add’s shine to your hair. It is suitable for all types as well. It is best used when combined with the sleek and chic shampoo and conditioner. It is available to buy from boots and can be bought in packs with all three items or as individuals. The blowdry cream ... more

Advantages Advantages small amount goes a long way

    Disadvantages Disadvantages leaves greasy buildup

I purchased a small bottle of Umberto Giannini sleek and chic blowdry cream for my summer hols. It cost £1.50 for 50ml and ive still got half a tube left. Ive used it maybe 3 times a week since August 2003 and it has lasted this long as you only need a small amount. I have medium length hair and is naturally straight but can go a bit frizzy in humid weather or very damp weather and it curls when i tuck it behind my ears so before you say i dont need it i use it to tame the flyaway ends and 'ariels' on top of my hair (all the little short bits that stick up). I used to use mousse to style my ... more

Advantages Advantages works on slightly wavy hair, nice smell

Disadvantages Disadvantages expensive, probably wouldn't work on very curly hair

My hair is quite straight to begin with, but often dries with a bit of a wave, so I bought this blow dry cream. Although I could definatley see the difference in my hair - it was a lot straighter than it had been - there was still a slight wave, which wouldn't straighten no matter how much of the product I used. I also found that it didn't last until the end of the night, and I came home with frizzy hair. The prduct smells nice and leaves my hair feeling nice and soft, but there have been a few times I've put too much on and been left with a big greasy looking patch on the top of my head, so ... more

    Advantages Advantages Soft shiny hair

    Disadvantages Disadvantages It's not straight

I have this horrible hair it's not straight and it's not curly!! Im obcessed with it being straight so Im always looking for new products. Recently in superdrug I saw Umberto Gianni's range of products. I fancied the blow dry creme as I already have loads of straightening shampoos and conditioners. However for a full bottle of this stuff it would cost me £4.99 for 250 ml. So I chose a mini bottle of 50 ml which cost me £1.60. Which I think is still expensive!! I bought it and as soon as I got home washed my hair. I put a big blob on my hand and just ran it down the strands of my hair with my ... more

Advantages Advantages works really well for dry hair

    Disadvantages Disadvantages a bit pricey

I've got strawberry blonde hair and the top layer gets really dry and split if i'm not careful. I try to avoid blow drying but my hair always loks so much better when i've had it dried, so i looked around for some blow dry products. This stuff from Umberto Gianni works a treat - just apply to wet hair and blow dry. It keeps my hair under control and brings out the natural curl in it. There's also an excellent 'Miracle Worker' creme which you can put on dry hair to stop frizz and make it easier to comb. Top products! ... more
