Undertaker; The Undertaker is a veteran of the WWF and is very well respected backstage and to many is thought of as a leader. His motto now is " The Decade of Destruction " which signifies his ten years in the buisness. He started out as a deadman who could hardly ever be knocked over and when he was he sat back up again; all thanks to the power contained inside the Urn which was held by his former manager Paul Bearer. Undertaker used to hail from " The Dark Side " and call upon his creatures of the night who was his fans which mainly consisted of fans under the age of ten. However in 1998 ... more

Advantages Advantages Unique character and personality

    Disadvantages Disadvantages A bit spooky

Watching the Undertaker make his entrance to the ring for the first time was a major TV event for me. The smash of a window breaking, all the stadium lights being dimmed and the entrance of the Grim Reaper to the ring. It certainly sent a shiver down my spine. Ted Dibiase first brought the Undertaker to the WWF at the 1991 Survivor Series. He proved to be an instant hit. He had the ability to take a lot of pain. His finishing move of the Tombstone would finish anybody off. During matches he would often walk along the top rope before slamming opponents. Always dressed in black he represented ... more

Advantages Advantages Thank God we have another main eventer back from injury...

Disadvantages Disadvantages Without the "Dark Side" mystique, he's just another 300+ pounder...

So the Undertaker is back from a lengthy injury... Or is he? The Judgement Day PPV saw an all-new Undertaker hit the WWF. No longer the "Man from the Dark Side" he is now the "American Bad-Ass", riding to the ring on the back of a Harley, decked out in denim and leather. OK - so maybe we can concede that to the WWF - give 'Taker a new gimmick, use it to set up a couple of feuds. But it's been a couple of months now and it's not really working. Without the mystery of the Darkside, 'Taker is just another big, slow, strong wrestler. He just doesn't have the same appeal anymore. He doesn't ... more

Advantages Advantages The fans would love the change

Disadvantages Disadvantages only that some fans might not

Well, it was Judgement Day 2000 that American Bad Ass hit on the PA System and Undertaker came made his return draped in a leather jacket, bandana, denims, shades and to top it all...a motorbike, well was the American Bad Ass a success? Or do you miss the Dead Man? I thought the American Bad Ass gimmick ruined the Undertaker because there was already a bad ass in the World Wrestling Federation who goes by the name of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin which meant that Undertaker's new gimmick was already taken, well what was the point in giving him it anyway, would you have prefered a man on a ... more

    Advantages Advantages Huge and intimidating

Disadvantages Disadvantages Underused widely given his potential

The Undertaker, real name ‘Mean’ Marc Calloway, is best described in my opinion by something Mick Foley says about him in his great book ‘Have a Nice Day’ – he is in reality 6 feet 9 and a bit tall, and is comfortably in the 23+ stone bracket, yet he has spent most of his great wrestling career battling it out with guys the same size or even bigger than him. He has been vastly underused given his potential – winning the title from the great Hulk Hogan is clearly the highest point of his career – ever since the Rock, HBK and Stone Cold have been firmly in the roost. His most notable matches to ... more

Advantages Advantages Performs a lot of very powerful moves, can still get a fan reaction

Disadvantages Disadvantages Getting a little old now, and can barely do some of his moves

Now before I start this I want to get one thing straight. I'm a HUGE Undertaker fan. When I first started watching wrestling back in 1993, the Undertaker was my favourite wrestler, and still is to a certain degree today. Advantages Advantages An icon in the industry, a true legend

Disadvantages Disadvantages All good things have got to come to an end

The Undertaker is the greatest veteran in the WWF today. He has battled through hard times and injuries, and is still one of the top five wrestlers today, over TEN years since his arrival in the WWF. Being in the industry so long you may think he is now way past his prime, getting old and worn out. I will admit, he isn’t as agile as he once was, but he can still walk the ropes and chokeslam people to hell like he has always done. His experience clearly shows in his matches, he is a consistently outstanding performer who you can guarantee will provide an entertaining match against anyone. It is ... more

    Advantages Advantages Power

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Injury prone

The Undertaker seems to be one of the few wrestlers ever in the WWF who has managed to successfully change with the times. When he first appeared in the WWK as the silent heel he went on a great run of success, including a title victory over Hulk Hogan. He then became a more vocal babyface, showing both great power and agility in knocking over the federations top heels one after another. Even the defection of Paul Bearer did not halt his progress for long, and eventually his hard work was rewarded with another title run. Now as the American Bad Ass it looks as though he has again a title reign ... more
