Uniross - Battery 4 x AA type NiMH 1500 mAh

...deliberation I opted for the Uniross NiMH 1300 mAh. For those not familiar with the abbreviation used here suffice to say without ( going into lots of electrical jargon ) that the higher the rating the more powerful the battery. Each battery will still only supply the 1.2Volts that it is designed to, but it will do so at a higher current level making it possible to power high consumption units for longer. So a 500mAh will do the same job as the 1300 ...

The batteries were purchased for a package price of £6.49 for the 4 which isn't bad value when you consider that they are rechargeable for between 500 - 1000 times. ...the batteries, I use a Uniross Ni-Cd & Ni MH battery charger that I purchased by recommendation at the same time as the batteries. It takes about 4-5 hours for batteries to fully charge, which isn't bad considering they then last for weeks. The batteries can be charged up to 1,000 times. You can get these almost anywhere, all the elctrical shops such as Dixons, Comet, Currys etc stock them as well as hardware shops and places like Argos. For those of you unfamiliar with batteries (and what kind of rock have you been living under if you are not!!!) you have to be careful when purchasing as to which type you get as different ...

However, some smaller products tend to take AAA type batteries so be careful before you buy!
