Advantages: Rechargeable Superberb Battery Life Disadvantages: Can take a long time to charge with a standard charger
These batterys are fantastic for appliances that use up battery life quickly. For me personally these batterys have even made my cd player last longer even though it recommends Alkaline Batts which last 20hrs but with these batts it has lasted for over 40hrs.
The one problem is to be truely happy with these batts you have to spend around 30 pounds on a fast charge which should take around 1hr to charge or you can stick to the standard chargers which ... ...hour charge it is well worth the lond wait.
These Batterys are AA only!
to find batterys with as good a performance look on the battery for the highest mAh eg 1200mAh
Last but not least i recommend to everyone not to buy AA's or AAA's under the 1200mAh range.
I have been asked to explain a few points so i shall:
Rechargeables are useful yes, but it is true when you say they are not as powerful.
Alkaline Batterys Have a Voltage of 1.5v Each

Advantages: well known make, Disadvantages: overpriced your paying for the name,have a habit of beind DOA or dieing quickly
...go by personal experience with uniross NIMH but I have had some really awful experiences with
them,I have had 4 packs of these three of the packs had
had 2 DOA batteries and the other packs just didnt hold
their charge,maybe Im just unlucky.
Add to this the WAY OVERPRICED cost for the name.
I suggest if you want excellent batteries at an excellent price buy Vapextech 2300 nimh batteries,they normally
sell them on ebay and you can buy them in ... ...more reliable and superbly built ,great price to.
Im sorry I cant list any positives,because all I have had
is bad experiences with uniross nimh,they were for me
very very poor and being somoene who requires very reliable batteries for my headlamp whilst carp fishing,this
is unacceptable. ...

...overnight, if you have the Uniross rapid charger RC101159, and a little longer with other cheaper Uniross chargers. I also have a set of Hahnel rechargeables of the 2100mAh capacity as well, and I would say that they last quite a bit longer. If you can afford higher capacity batteries then they will last longer, but you have to balance that against recharging time which will also be longer.
There is no set rule as to how long a set of batteries ... ...different rates, you can only go by the maunfacturers claims (of the camera) and your own experience. A rule of thumb would be to buy the highest capacity you can afford then you know you are getting the best perfomance you can out of your equipment. any problems further to that regarding battery consumption and that, is down to the design of the camera. Sony Cybershot are renowned for battery guzzling and there are plenty of others. All I can recommend ...
