Advantages: Easy to read Disadvantages: Far too basic with lots of irrelevant info
Unix is a huge subject and Unix for Dummies really does not hit on it fully enough. Whilst it copes with explaining basic commands, such as ‘ls’ and ‘rm’, it really is too basic to be of much use. Too much time and effort is spent on the internet side: after all, who would want to connect to the internet using Unix when there are decent Web Browsers around? Or is it just coincidence that the authors also wrote Internet for Dummies…?
