Although not as lightweight as I expected, this upright vacuum is pretty great. The handheld extention for pet hairs worked wonders on my sofa and stairs. It was easy to use, with a detachable hose that stretched quite far. Bought time I found something that works on my dogs hair. I have a shagpile rug in my lounge and it whipped over that with no problems as you are able to tune the vacuum to suit it's environment with a knob that shortens the brush length ie. you can go from hard flooring to longpile carpet with the twist of a knob - easy! Advantages Super suction, detachable hose, long power cable, adjustable height for handle and brushes
Disadvantages needs a longer hose

Well, I’m well pleased with this Vax. Does what it says on the tin, so to speak. It really does have a very powerful suction which sucks up all my (very hairy) dog’s hair and more – dust I didn’t even know I had. Eeuuggh!!! It’s lighter than mid-weight and is comfortable to use having a handle that is adjustable so suits many people heights and the suction doesn't cause drag. It has an extremely long power lead which is handy – saves unplugging from room to room and if the rooms have different floor coverings like ours, it’s simple to adjust the brush height – just turn a dial. Advantages Extended lead is excellent as is the 6 Year Guarantee
Disadvantages Recline switch on the front of the machine. Holder for the extended lead too small

In my opinion this cleaner is much improved on my previous one Vax Power 6 Pet Cleaner bought last year. This one is much more powerful having 340. air watts. Weight is approximately 7kilos which I found to be manageable. The dust capacity is 3 litres and is easy to take off and connect. The cord is 10 metres long and is a big improvement on the Vax cleaners. However the hooks at the back appear to me to be too far apart which causes the cord to loosen at times. The Vax Mach Air Force Pet is a great vacuum cleaner. It is the best Pet Vacuum cleaner I have ever had. I have a cat who seems to leave cat hairs everywhere she goes. This vacuum cleaner picks up the hairs so easily especially when I use the Turbo Tool. This tool is amazing and very useful. The vacuum is a great upright cleaner but the extension and tools are even better as you can get into every corner of the house and clean the hard to reach areas. Advantages Very powerful and picks up the pet hairs easily
Disadvantages It is very noisy

I struggled when buying my new hoover. I wanted on with plenty of power and one that would cope with the dog hairs in my carpets and on the hard flooring. This hoover was really easy to assemble and is a dream to use. It is very noisy but I suppose that is because it is so powerful. It has different settings for hard flooring, low carpet pile and deep carpet piles too, which is easily selected by just the twist of a button and it works just as good on each setting. Advantages a very clean home
Disadvantages quite loud and not the lightest hoover

i had numerous hoovers before this one, this is a tad loud and it isnt the lightest hoover i have had but its the best hoover for cleaning pet hair, dust and ground in grit and dirt out of the carpets, i had the vaxpower 4 pets hoover before this hoover, and that was good but i hoovered with this one and it even managed to find shake n vac in the carpet which i had not used for 8-10 wks previously, its constant 300 air watts of muticyclonic suction is amazing compared to competitors and rival hoovers with same designs and technology, an example of this was i shaved my head to a number 1 then ... more

Advantages light, brilliant on upholstery, very strong suction
Disadvantages very loud, rather bulky

My first impression was that this vacuum was lighter than expected, but sturdy. I have a dog that sheds a great deal and I find myself vacuuming/sweeping about every other day. I tried to vacuum a room without sweeping first, and found it actually made more mess, displacing dog hair all over the place. In the end, I decided to sweep up the worst of it first, after which it picked up everything else brilliantly. On the hard floors my old, rather weak, cleaner actually worked better but I think on carpets it would be great. However, on the sofa the upholstery attachment is amazing! I went over a ... more

I think this is a fabulous hoover! I have upgraded from the old orange Vacum / washer recently and what a joy! so much better than the red upright hoover which I own too. It is slightly heavier but heasy to push. It works an absolute treat on my laminate flooring, Carpet and shagpile rug. The first hoover to manage the shagpile! I also have alot of dog hair as my dog is molting and my goodness it picks up so much more as it has a large container for the dirt. I am rather a cynic when it comes to electrical products. They might work for a few goes and then nothing! Well this hoover proved me wrong. I have two Jack Russells at the moment and the first time I used the hoover, I was stunned. My rugs and carpets had been covered in those annoying stick-in hairs that come with JR's and nothing would budge them! Not even my Marigolds covered in cold water! Just swiping the hoover over the rug once and I actually was able to see the whole brown colour of the rug... not the usual mottled effect I was getting from my other hoover as it left so many hairs ... more

Yes vax has done it again not only more suction power but such a lightweight, a tremendous boon 4 housewifes and myself with lower back pain disabilities , i can easily lift and carry this with one hand.of course 6 yr warrany only goes to prove confidence VAX have in their reliable products, and cat hairs are are easily lifted completely at one try. My only dissapointment is hose extension low down as i do not like lifting hose from machine housing by actual hose itself, in case causes to stretch, but then i have difficulty bending being partly disabled, a little niggle is they have changed ... more
