    Firstly, the background of how I got my VAX U90. My husband brought a Vax hoover (cant remember the model as it's no longer in production) last year for his work, upon seeing how good it was, I asked him to get another one for me. Anyway, after nearly 1 year of mine perfectly working, it decided to die on me. I went to use my husbands only for the same thing to happen.     I have owned the Vax Mach Air Reach a couple of years now, after a reasonably long search for a new vacuum cleaner. Bagless 'vacs' are becoming more popular, and so without spending a small fortune on a Dyson I opted for the Vax. The Dyson brand is known all around the globe, and although they have an extensive list of unique patents, I were not too keen on the pricing of their range.     The Vax with the x factor! This machine was an upgrade from my previous bulky Vax, which is at least a decade old, so I couldn't wait to try out my new Vax Mach Air Reach (Vax U90-MA-R), the new and improved model of the already highly rated Vax Mach Air... and it certainly lives up to all its claims and beyond! The design is lightweight yet completely robust, making it easy to whizz about the house without having to worry about it taking a few knocks.     I have had my Mach Air Reach now 2 weeks and there are things I love about it and some things that I would change. I am in the middle of moving house so I have put the machine to a good test. I love the size of the machine as it stores away very easily and the length of cable allows me to plug in 1 room and vacuum through to the next. Although I wish there was a way the cable automatically retracted as there is a lot of cable to wrap round at the back of the machine.     Advantages Advantages Its light yet powerful and is easy to use through out the house.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Only disadvantage I can see is that when the brush bar in switched on the hoover is a little loud

    I have had my new Vax for about 5 days and I really like it. I hoovered my carpets upstairs the day before it arrived with my Dyson (that I have to say is quite old but still going strong) and then hoovered again with the Vax the following day, I was very surprised at the amount it picked up. It also left my carpets feeling softer underfoot and looking more fluffy than usual. The vax is much lighter than my other hoovers and therefore easier to carry up and down stairs.     The Mach Air Reach was very easy to assemble from straightforward minimal instructions. First use of the Air Reach was also easy and familiarisation only takes a few minutes. The machine is very powerful which appears constant. There is no messy bag to empty and the filter can be removed and simply washed so there is no additional expense in purchasing bags and filters. The machine is light to use and manoeuvre and stairs, at last, become a doddle with the long attachment hose. There are 3 extra attachments to cover every area in the house and car.     Vax U90-MA-R Mach Air Reach Multicyclonic Upright Vacuum Cleaner ( We have a German Sheppard and a long haired white cat, hence lots and lots of pet hair. We have gone through 2 vacuums in the past year, they clog with pet hair and the belt breaks or the motor blows. Recently we purchased a machine that has a special turbo pet hair attachment, so I thought great. But alas it clogged with hair and I had to cut the hair out of it every 5 minutes.     I have used this vacuum cleaner for just over a week now and I am extremely pleased with it. When I first took it out of the box I had my doubts as to whether it would be any good as it is a lot lighter and smaller than uprights I have used previously. BUT, I needn’t have worried – this is a real powerhouse of a machine. Its suction power is second to none and my carpets have come up much better than I hope they would.
