    First let me tell you that I do not like hoovering (or hovering for that matter, thanks a lot spellchecker). It is probably my least favourite of the household chores. So if something makes it easier/faster/miraculously does it for me, I am happy. We bought the Vax V-060 Turboforce (henceforth referred to as the orange thing) because we thought it might do one of those three (well not the last one).     If you're thinking of buying this hoover…don't. It's like vacuuming away all your hard earned pennies. Let me tell you why…. This hoover was bought about 4 months ago after Mr Dyson sadly croaked it. It seemed a pretty good deal… only £80 from TJ Hughes. I've actually seen this hoover in some catalogues for £140… I feel sorry for the poor people who paid this much. When opening the box it was like opening a huge kinder surprise egg.     Okay so I am doing two vacuum cleaner reviews one after the other but it is an interesting comparison for two machines that have supposed comparable attributes. To see the comparisons it would be, I feel unfair of me and probably to the manufacturers to compare the two in back to back reviews so this one will be totally separate to the preceding one.     This particular model came into our household about two years ago. If I remember, it was an early production model. My wife bought it, after a Dyson fell to pieces. My initial feelings were, that the Vax would be just another reincarnation of the Dyson, but I am pleased to say, 'I was wrong'! After owning a Dyson, the Vax is much more sturdy ,it's construction, although mainly built of plastic, is a very robust machine.     I bought this from ASDA 3 months ago for £120. It was quite easy to assemble for me but I love doing flat pack stuff anyway. I only needed a cross head screwdriver, magnetic as the holes are quite far into the plastic so screws needed to be stuck on the end of the screwdriver for convenience. It is very sturdy and heavy yet really easy to manouver because of the small swivel castors at the rear of the base.     After having many an argument with various vacuum cleaners I think I have, for the moment at least, met my match! The Vax V006 is described as a turbo force cyclonic power cleaner with 1700 watt cyclonic technology for ultimate suction and easy dirt pick up. In other words, if you have a dirty house and hate vac-ing this is the one for you!! It is a very powerful machine, which is something you need to be immediately aware of, otherwise it could quite easily become a point of disadvantage.     After having used a well-known brand of hoover for about four years, it gave up the ghost and I was on the hunt for a new one. I needed a hoover that was reasonably priced, and an appliance that would pick up dog hairs, as one of my Springer Spaniels sheds dreadfully! (Surprisingly she is NOT bald!) Enter the Vax Turboforce cyclonic power cleaner at 1700 watt. Having seen it advertised in Argos and comparing other hoovers alongside the Vax turboforce, I opted to take the plunge with the Vax 006.     This a FANTASTIC product It never ceases to amaze me how much dust there is in my carpet despite my vacuuming every day with 3 children! Its quite heavy but lifts the pile of your carpet a treat and the built in light is great for dark corners or under the sofa! also the turbo tool is brilliant for stair cleaning and the bathroom carpet (where I brush my hair).

    I have just bought this model due to the spectacular demise of my Hoover Vortex - it blew up! Having spent a lot on the last cleaner and money being a bit tight I decided to buy a cheap cleaner and hope it lasts! After visiting a few electrical retailers I realised thought there are quite a few upright cleaners under £100 many had limited features.     I was desperate for a new hoover as my dyson had broke. I have always had dysons since they were available for purchase. After visit my local comet I knew I had to get the vax v006 as it was the only hoover in store that had a bare floor settings and it had a amazing tool designed for picking up pet hairs.
