Advantages Advantages Young children can start to understand the wider world

Disadvantages Disadvantages Joystick can take a while to learn to control

I have to admit, when Jacob was given the Vtech Fly and Learn Globe a year last Christmas, I was unsure as to how interested he would be in it. After all he was only 2 and a half and could not possibly have had any concept of the world. However, 15 months on, this is one of the toys that is brought out time and time again. The globe itself is very eye catching. The sea areas are bright blue and each continent is a different colour. The land areas are raised away from the sea and points of interest such as the Alps or the animals which are dotted around, are raised again. This makes the toy ... more

Advantages Advantages Teaches a world of knolwedge (hehe)

Disadvantages Disadvantages Britain looks a bit disfigured...

My daughter played with this toy every time we went into Woolworths, she fascinated by it . After about seven months, and being as she is just starting to learn about other countries, I decided to buy it for her. I didn't buy it from woolworths though as I got it cheaper else where. What is it? How does it work? ------------------------------------------ The Fly and learn globe is an interactive, talking globe. Just like other world globes, maybe not quite as accurate, this globe sets out to show and teach the child about the world in which they live. Made of durable plastic, brightly coloured ... more

Advantages Advantages A GREAT WAY TO INTRODUCE YOUR LITTLE ONE TO THE WORLD

Disadvantages Disadvantages JOYSTICK CAN TAKE A BIT OF GETTING USED TO

I Bought this toy, with great trepidation for my 5yr old last xmas, from woolworths for around £15.00. I wasn,t sure he would actually play with it at home,as he always went straight to it everytime we entered the shop, and you know what children are like it's more fun playing with it in the shop!. Well! he just loves it! You use the joystick to fly around the globe whilst it makes an engine noise, you can then stop it at a certain destination, push the big blue button and it will tell you where you have landed. it has three levels to try,for either the animals, the continents or the oceans and ... more

Advantages Advantages Fun way to introduce countries to young children

    Disadvantages Disadvantages No carribbean

I bought this item for my son at christmas. Age 4 he had started to find a interest in finding out where different countries where. For example a few months back we went to visit my father in Jamaica and i thought as my son is always talking about Jamaica i could show him on the globe where my father lived and how far away it was from where we were. However i was disappointed to see that Jamaica is not featured on the globe nor is the carribbean. I know it is targeted for young children but i did not think it would be that basic. It does feature Europe , Asia, Arfica, South America , North ... more
