I purchased a Vaillant Ecomax Pro in April 2004. The engineer described it as the 'Rolls Royce' of boilers. He could not have been more wrong. In October 2008 I have been issued with a Warning/ Advice Notice Report stating that it is immediately dangerous and should not be switched back on. The case seals were broken, the heat exchanger leaking onto the electrical components below and there is extensive corrosion internally. Vaillant have admitted that there was a manufacture fault in the seals in some of their earlier condenser boilers but are refusing to take any responsibility for the short life of my boiler even though I had it serviced annually by a Vaillant accredited engineer. Their customer/aftercare service is very poor. ...

We have had a Vaillant combi for over 20 years (installed in 1985). The only thing that went wrong was the pump, about 3 years after it was installed. Nothing has gone since until now when a valve stuck but is hopefully repairable. In another house we had a Worcester Bosch combi installed (two years ago). Vaillant ( all makes ) Don`t be fooled by vaillant , thinking because they are expensive they will last .They are no better than other boilers half their price , they use the same fittings inside as other boilers and are too complicated .
