    Vaseline. It certainly won't be the most glamorous item on your bathroom shelf, but I would say most of us own a little pot of this wonderstuff. I never used to bother with the stuff actually, until I was helping clear out my grandma's house after she died nearly 8 years ago, and happened across an unopened pot. Curious, I took it home and since then a pot of Vaseline is always close to hand in our home. Vaseline, is pure white petroleum jelly.     I’m feeling sorry for myself at the moment with a stinking cold and very snotty nose. The only thing that keeps me going, apart from tissues, is my trusty pot of Vaseline which I plaster all over my nose and upper lip to stop me looking like Rudolph.     I have decided that it is about time I wrote an opinion about one of the versatile items in my First Aid or make up box. The item in question is the humble pot of Vaseline Petroleum Jelly. It is made by Elida Faberge Limited, 3 St James Road, Kingston-Upon-Thames, KT1 2BA and costs £1.35 for a 100g tub, although I think that it is also available in 200g tubs too. I use it mainly to combat dry skin. I suffer badly from chapped lips for which I use a lip saver but I usually put Vaseline on my lips at night before I go to sleep as this gives a more intense moisturisation.     I have always used Vaseline pure petroleum jelly from when I was a kid and I think my mum used to use it on me when I was a baby. I mainly used it during the winter times because it kept my skin moisturized and it didn't dry up quickly like other skin lotions. It also helped to keep me warm from the winter colds. I also used Vaseline Pure petroleum Jelly for my lips, it kept my lips soft for a long time and I also put it on my lips when I go to sleep. My lips are never dry because I use Vaseline.     I love this stuff, ever since a friend told me about it a couple of years ago. I love the design of the pot a small blue and white tub, to me, it look’s very sixties/seventies style. It says on the tin that it soothes dry skin and lips and it does, and the wonderful thing is a little goes a long way. I use my index finger to dab some lightly on my lips and there’s always excess, so I just rub my finger over my eyelids and it gives a lovely sheen effect.     Vaseline is a product that everybody knows. Most of us would have used it for some purpose or the other in our lifetime. I would like to share my views on the Vaseline Petroleum Jelly. Its main uses are as a dressing for minor burns, cuts, skin irritations and sunburn. The thing about Vaseline is that it can be used for just about anything and that is what makes it a wonderful product.     I have always heralded the producers of Vaseline as manufacturing a product that can be used for virtually any beauty regime. In fact it is so good that I am continually reading of new ways to use this small tin of goodness. The original Vaseline comes in a small blue pot which made of metal and has a lid which twists off although it can also be bought in a medium sized plastic tub.
