5 Stars Of Corsa It's Good Review with images 06/09/2004

Advantages Advantages Brilliant extras and comfy drive

Disadvantages Disadvantages A little low on the power

Vauxhall Corsas are extremely popular cars. Their sales are only beaten by the Ford Focus. The car we have is an 8 month old Vauxhall Corsa Design. It has a 35 plate but was sold originally in February 2004. It was used by BSM driving school and has 10,000 miles on the clock. We bought it from Skurrays in Swindon. Corsas are currently a good buy. Because driving schools thought them good cars to use to teach their students. However, after the dual controls were fitted they quickly realised the clutch begins to stick occasionally. So most driving schools were quick to sell their Corsas on. This ... more

    Advantages Advantages great small car

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

We have had our vauxhal corsa that long now it even has a name, mertle. Everything we own ends up with a name. I brought my corsa back in 2002 and paid £3500 for it, it is the 3 cylinder ecotech engine 1 liter well not quite a liter but rounded up to that on my log book. It is a 3 door in red with not a lot of mod cons but has been literaly indestructable. I have brought a few cars since then and kept donating this to my hubby and saying i wanted to get rid of it but keep ending up with it back as it is so reliable. Poor mertle has been abused by me for 6 years now and is still going strong ... more

    Advantages Advantages Cheap, Reliable

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Boring

I have owned my lovely, British Racing Green, Corsa for almost two years now and feel well qualified to spout off about this little beast. The car is due it's first MOT next month, when I will be updating this epic. I paid around £5.5k for the car which was barely a year old when purchased with just over 10,000 on the odometer (clock). This was a real bargain as apparantly the model is quite unusual and retailed for almost £10k when new. I found this out from a third party, not the salesman you understand. I think they had the wrong price marked up on it as it had only just come in to the ... more

    Advantages Advantages Cheap on running

Disadvantages Disadvantages Depreciating value rapidly now!

I bought my Corsa on recommendation from a Dr who drove a slightly more impressive Astra Coupe. I'd previously had a Ford KA with disasterous consequences. I am no car genius, if I can drive it, it's fine, if it works, it's fine. I bought my Corsa Club on a 51 plate, brand new from a Vauxhall main dealer. For £7495, the spec on this car is relative cheap and cheerful, there's nothing out of the ordinary here. Basic is the key word to the Club model, there is a radio with tape player, manual windows but you do get central locking as standard on the Corsa. Other deals included are 3 years ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap as chips! Reliable and simple.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Sometimes dull or nerve racking to drive. A car that likes to be driven steady.

I will not descend to other ciao user's need to use the word "Corsa" instead of the word "Course". I feel this is a discreet but effective method of mine to keep true essence of comedy alive. To the review... Let me explain the title. My last car was a Ford Focus turbo diesel. I did write a review on it, but its on another ciao account where I can't remember the password and I believe the email address for that account is in the great database in the sky. Or equivelant. I reluctantly got rid of my Focus after a row I had with my insurance company. I was a loyal customer to Endsleigh Car ... more

Advantages Advantages Much improved over old model

Disadvantages Disadvantages Price is a little high

UPDATED 13 Dec 2001******.Well this is going to be a very short update as nothing much has happened with this car. Its now just clocked 11000 and has behaved well in the 14 months of ownership. Its fist service after a year cost £105 full inclusive from the Vauxhall dealer whcih is needed to continue the 3 years warranty. At the same time new updated door seals were fitted as ours kept leaking!. Best regards Barry ************************* ********************************************* ** Ive now owned my Corsa 12v since November 2000 and in this time Ive clocked up over 1600 miles without any ... more

Advantages Advantages 3 years warranty/breakdown cover 1 year free insurance

Disadvantages Disadvantages Price a little steep starting at £7495 for expression model

Ive been the owner of the Vauxhalls new model Corsa now for a month. At first I was put off the vehicle with it having only a 1 litre three cylinder engine, but I have to say even with a full load of 4 adults it still pulls very willingly. The engine does however make a funny washing machine sound when pushed hard. Its a very pleasant car to drive, I upgraded from a old corsa and can see the huge difference in the new car.I feel Vauxhall have improve the gear change and ride quality no end. While the speed sensitive power steering is out of this world. Ive got a three door model(five door due out ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy electrics, air conditioning works well (noisy though)

Disadvantages Disadvantages Unomfortable, poor style, looks, lack of extras, high fuel consumption, rattles and more!

I have driven this car twice while my (Toyota Yaris) was being fixed. The new Corsa is a vast improvement on the old one, but still, I would not buy one. Even the reputation is had for holding its value is fading as there so many of them on the roads. The car had full electrics which were easy to use, worked well and were silent. It is still very plastic and the silver part on the dash reflected off the windscreen which nearly made me want to smash it! The CD player is odd to use and I could not figure out the radio at all. One car I drove had only 1000 miles on the clock but there were odd ... more

    Advantages Advantages fuel economy

    Disadvantages Disadvantages poor quality

Very modest car with reasonably low running costs. Very poor image and with very tacky plastic interior. Quite good fuel economy and acceptable performance. Nice modern three-cylinder engine, makes a quite but unusual sound and gas generallt proved reliable. Replacement silencer was expensive, being of a larger bore than standard Coras models. Generally simple to maintain, but an absolute nightmare to change the spark plugs, whereas oil filter changes are jsut quick but messy. The sump plug is made of inferior metal and the torx driven plug can easily sheer. Service intervals are quite ... more

Advantages Advantages Great price, great drive, great inside room.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Slightly low economy indoor decor

I'm a student who finds having a car very useful. After borrowing my parents escort for several months I decided that I would like to buy my own. I found a second hand Daewoo Lanos for £4500 and so began ringing around for insurance. I'm twenty and male so the lowest insurance that I was quoted was the ridiculous amount of £1500 with an amount of £2500 being quoted. My parents suggested I looked at new cars. I wanted a small one for the petrol efficiency and so I looked at the new saxos on offer in my local dealers. I found that I was stooped in a ridiculously uncomfortable position in the ... more
