Advantages: Easy electrics, air conditioning works well (noisy though)
Disadvantages: Unomfortable, poor style, looks, lack of extras, high fuel consumption, rattles and more!

I have driven this car twice while my (Toyota Yaris) was being fixed. The new Corsa is a vast improvement on the old one, but still, I would not buy one. Even the reputation is had for holding its value is fading as there so many of them on the roads. The car had full electrics which were easy to use, worked well and were silent. Disadvantages: poor quality

Very modest car with reasonably low running costs. Very poor image and with very tacky plastic interior. Quite good fuel economy and acceptable performance. Nice modern three-cylinder engine, makes a quite but unusual sound and gas generallt proved reliable. Replacement silencer was expensive, being of a larger bore than standard Coras models. ...we nearly didn't visit the Vauxhall dealers. I am glad we did. The cars were reduced from £8195 to £6795 due to the new model being released and featured an ingenious (yet entirely simple) feature that could raise or lower the driver seat. At first I'd considered the 1.2 16v, because I thought the 1.0 might be as sluggish as the old 8-valve, but when the dealer showed me a pre-registered 12-valve with 25% off the list price, I had to give it a chance - and I'm glad I did. The car is much nippier that the older 8-valve; the performance isn't earth-shattering, but I don't need to dash up to 60 that often, or drive at 100mph, so in most situations it's quick enough. ...i went back to the Vauxhall garage, they said they knew about the fault as it was on most Corsa's,but they were nice about it, they came straight out-side, took my old wipers off and put knew on , which worked fine afterwards. Passangers have also said how spacious it is in the back and i have been on long trips ov over 200 mile journeys, all with no complaint from the passangers,(and they would tell me if they were too cramped). My old car a clapped old Fiesta was on its last legs, so i decided enough was enough. I went through the local admags and decided i wanted something cheap and realible, as i was on a tight budget, i came across an advert that caught my eye. Vauxhall Corsa. ...a common make. Although a Vauxhall garage quoted me £170 for the part and fitting, I managed to get it for £150 elsewhere. My last service cost me £121 with a change of air and oil filters and it passed its first MOT in October 2004 with just one tyre needing to be changed because of a low tread depth (front passenger side). I love my new Corsa, it's a gorgeous metallic silver colour and is without a doubt the best value car I've ever bought. It is a really smooth drive with plenty of headroom for passengers and the driver alike. The speaker system is crystal clear and there is ample space in the boot for storing my golf clubs and assorted fishing wear. I think this car is the best car for first timers. It is reliable, it is not to fast and if you want to you can do the car up to make it look good. It is small as well, I have only had this car for a short amount of time and I got it second hand, it is a good car. (X Reg 2000 Corsa Club 1.0 12V) Had this car for nearly two years and I've had nothing but problems. Granted when it does run, it does it smoothly and cheaply. The whole Air management system was replaced, the exhaust, manifold, rear suspension coils and the engine is beginning to fail. This all has been very expensive. I suppose if you get a hold of one that has had this work, you'll be fine.

Advantages: Great little reliable car suitable as a second car
Disadvantages: Low spec model and small engine means it often does not meet requirements

...my family cars is a Vauxhall Corsa 1.0 Club that we purchased second hand from a reputable Reg Vardy dealership about three years ago. It is a 53 reg car that will be my first ever car when I learn to drive in almost two months time. It has served my mum well never having any major faults over the years we have known it. Advantages: economical and reliable - but still stylish
Disadvantages: Doesn't pick up speed quickly

When my partmner first got the 1 litre corsa I had my doubts about the speed - I couldn't have been more wrong which is why I now have one! The are comfortable cars which are capable of keeping up with the best of cars on the motorway, traffic lights etc. One downside though is the power and the time it takes to reach the speeds required, especially when overtaking. You have to be 100% sure as you cannot put your foot down and get out of the way ... Read review
