Advantages Advantages Cheap to run, spacious interior

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not a performance car

At first I'd considered the 1.2 16v, because I thought the 1.0 might be as sluggish as the old 8-valve, but when the dealer showed me a pre-registered 12-valve with 25% off the list price, I had to give it a chance - and I'm glad I did. The car is much nippier that the older 8-valve; the performance isn't earth-shattering, but I don't need to dash up to 60 that often, or drive at 100mph, so in most situations it's quick enough. It picks up reasonably quickly from around 2,000 revs, and it gets around corners much more comfortably than the older Corsa. Anyway, you don't buy a car like this for ... more

Advantages Advantages great wee run around car, very reliable, cheap to run

Disadvantages Disadvantages rather irritating noise when indicators are on, car sounds like a diesel engine

Having bought a new Corsa at the time (ST51) I must say I am very impressed with it compared with the old Corsa we owned. This corsa is a lot different internally and externally (as the other Corsa was the old style). I particularly like the lights on the car on the front and back which look pretty sporty. Internally the car has 5 gears and it also includes a power assisted steering. Power Assisted steering is different from power steering itself. This device basically tightens the tension when you are going fast and obviously when you are going slow the steering is very light, this is very ... more

Advantages Advantages Reliable name, garage/customer service

    Disadvantages Disadvantages bit expensive.

I have just sold my Corsa Club 1.0L.I managed to clock up 33,000+ before i sold it,the car is a ver nice little runner. When i first bought the car i paid extra for a CD player and remote control central locking.I was used to an old banger before, but as soon as i started the Corsa, the engine was smooth, hardly any noise. I bought the car for £7,995 and sold it privatly for £3,000,i would recommend the car it is a nice little runner, ok for a first time buyer or someone who doesn't want something to flash. The car is good on fuel also,i put £20 every week which takes me well over 300 miles ... more

Advantages Advantages small car, lots of boot space, good looks for price

Disadvantages Disadvantages has a phobia of hills.

I have owned my 1Ltr Corsa Club 3cyl twincam for around a year now, me being 17 at the time of the first insurance quote it was useful being a group 1 as insurance is 'cheap' (term used loosely!). The car has 113,000 miles on the clock and had both driveshafts and UJ joints changed, manifold gasket replaced so far. Recently I've had some trouble with the electrics, went for a drive today and half way through the indicators and hazards stopped working...not useful. Having one of the smallest car engines on the market it starts to struggle when more than 3 adults are in meaning that gears have ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap to run, easy to park being smaller

Disadvantages Disadvantages Tacky dashboard, reminds me im in a courtesy car

My old car a clapped old Fiesta was on its last legs, so i decided enough was enough. I went through the local admags and decided i wanted something cheap and realible, as i was on a tight budget, i came across an advert that caught my eye. Vauxhall Corsa. I now have a "T" Reg Corsa GLS 3 door 1L. Although not perfect (is anything) I find it to be a great little runner. I have done over 2500 miles in it since I purchased the car. I can't believe the number of miles I get to the gallon. At my last count it was 51mpg which is brilliant when every day petrol prices go up. The car isn't very quick ... more

    Advantages Advantages Ideal first car

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not enough boot space

Well after passing my driving test two years ago, it was decided that I needed a car to get around in. I had been learning to drive in a Renault Clio which I found to be a good car, but at the time I was looking we couldn't find one that was reasonably priced. After trying several cars, we decided on a Corsa Comfort 1L which we bought used from a dealership in Crawley. Whilst the car is a very good little run around and is an ideal first car, I have a big problem with it. I have a 9mth old son and in order to put his Graco Pushchair in the boot of the car I have to take out the parcel shelf as ... more

    Advantages Advantages Very economical.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can't think of any.

I bought a Vauxhall Energy 3dr model in Flame Red with dark grey interior at the beginning of November 2004 and haven't looked back since - it is a great little car! I registered with Vauxhall online to buy this car to ensure a good discount, you have to give them a £20 refundable deposit to use this service. Then I chose a local dealer to complete the purchase which was easy peasy!! My car came complete with alloy wheels, cd player/radio, air conditioning, leather trim steering wheel, remote control two - stage central locking and mats as standard, I chose the standard colour scheme and the ... more

4 Stars Quick review of Vauxhall Corsa 1L by Cheeseontoast88 30/05/2007
My Corsa is my first car and have had it for a year and a half, only problems include a broken mass air flow meter which cost £400 to replace and the exhaust twice. Nippy enough for a 1litre but not especially fast, although I generally get 40-45 mpg out of it. Good first car or for someone just after something handy to get about, not much of a super car but not bad all the same.

    Advantages Advantages Very very comfortable

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Small engine size

From the first time I took this car for a test drive, it felt natural and extremely comfortable to drive. Its compact size and the power steering mean that it is easy to manouver in and out of parking spaces, especially when parallel parking! The interior, although hardly luxurious (very plasticy), is comfortable and easy to keep clean. As far as entertainment goes, I only have a casette radio in the car but it is easy to operate and still going strong nearly 4 years on. I purchased the car second hand for around £6000 in July 2002 (the car was first registered in October 2001). It had ... more
