Advantages: Economical, nice looking cars, popular, small enough for a first car, surprisingly "nippy"! Disadvantages: None that I have found so far.
...looking/asking around and found that Vauxhall offered the deal for people aged over 19. In fact it was great timing as Vauxhall was just embarking on their free insurance deals on Corsa's (a car I actually liked!).
So that was that. I was to buy a Corsa. Or rather my dad was to buy it for me and I'm to pay him back over x number of years to suit my income. (My dads nice like that) :-)
So, enough of the background info. Onto the scary bit. This ... ...want to double check your Vauxhall garage has the latest one's in stock as I believe some are still selling off the "old" shape.
Vauxhall are generally offering 3 door hatchbacks from £8360. (Or 5 door versions from £9020).
But it is well worth shopping around for the best deal. My dad seems to enjoy haggling (something I personally HATE doing) so he's always a useful man to have around when you're shopping around for a bargain too! As an example, ...

Advantages: Solidly built, well equipped, good suspension and roadhandling Disadvantages: Interior looks dated, rough engine
...(a Xmas pressie for someone?)... Vauxhall are currently trying to shift all the remaining stock of the current Corsa model before they launch the new one, so there's some great deals to be had. I got a massive discount off the list price by shopping around. Vauxhall are also doing a year's Free Fully Comp Insurance on this model. It was really hard work haggling and shopping around. It took a few days and involved lots of phonecalls to dealerships ... ...Clark Vauxhall dealer in Winsford, Cheshire. I got £2,300 off list price (amazing I know) and they even threw in metallic paint for free. But another dealer up the road would only trim £200 off. Big differences. Shop around.
First impressions of the car were simple: it's stunningly good looking on the outside, very modern, with high-mounted rear light clusters. But on the inside it's a very different story: the cabin hasn't been updated radically ...

The Vauxhall Corsa on the face of it appears a pretty decent car, looks quite nice, quite roomy everything you would want really. In reality it is a nightmare to own and drive, who thought of the puts the fun back in driving advert for this car. Dont believe all what you see its just untrue.
I bought a 51 reg 3door 1.0 Corsa from Carland for what I thought was a good price at £3999 I was just looking for a cheap runaround not expensive or equipped ... ...I took the car to Vauxhall and they told me to fit new ones, I reluctantly paid around £150 to fit new spark plugs. After the lights still where on, I took the car back and they said it must have been the sensor! I was appalled.
The ride is rather bumpy if you drive your Corsa over small potholes in the road the whole car shudders violently and after driving down cobbled road your spine will have turned to a jelly!
The spaciousness is reasonable ...

Advantages: low tax and insurance, small, comfy, good petrol consumption, electric windows, cd player with controls on wheel Disadvantages: not a very smooth drive once you've had it for a year or so, no cigarette lighter or sun roof, everyone's got one!
...I had an old Vauxhall Corsa before that and the improvements are amazing.
The car comes with a standard power steering, cd and radio (controllable from the wheel, electric windows, central locking, charger socket, variable windscreen settings and a large boot. It's cheap to tax and considering I'm under 25, with only 2 years no claims, £19 a month insurance is extremely reasonable. It was £200 for spearmint silver metallic paint, but it really is worth it and it looks much better than other non-metallic cars on the road.
On the negative side I find that it's not a very smooth drive compared to other new cars on the market. It's very nippy for a 1 litre though and I would recommend it to anyone, new drivers especially. ...

Advantages: Looks great Disadvantages: Slow and problematic!
...problem was non existent and Vauxhall had cut costs and abandoned one of the security features where only the drivers door opens on first unlocking, followed by the rest on 2nd key click. It makes you lose confidence in your purchase when the people selling you the car don't know what they are selling you.
Here's a list of the problems I've had thus far:
1. Exhaust has been changed but still very noisy
2. Heater has been changed but still problematic

I would really appreciate hearing your stories/opinions especially if you have had similar problems with the Corsa Life. ...

Advantages: Solid, Reliable, Some Bargains To Be Had Disadvantages: Petrol Consumption
I'm a Vauxhall fan, I make no bones about it. I am a fan of this small, sweet and nippy car and of the Astra Coupe's and Cabriolets.
This is my 2nd Corsa, having been the owner of a Corsa Club. This is very much the same car as the club apart from the fabric of theinterior has been brought into the 21st century on my silver one, although they still market the cream interior quite strongly, it has a basic CD player and radio and electric windows ... ...relatively smooth and comfortabel although Vauxhall still need to deal with the hard seat cushions that plagued my back in the Club model and continue to do so in the Life model.
Another slight snag if you're little like me, is they still have an awful blind spot for reversing if you have the 3 door model, this spot the at the back and all it would take from vauhall is to make the passenger windows slightly bigger and therefore the frame narrower ...

Advantages: Amazing on fuel. Disadvantages: Not very fast.
...Life 1.0 litre from a Vauxhall dealership in Warrington. Iam very impressed with my new car as I feel it is an ideal first car.
Having just graduated and starting a new job 30 miles away from my home I felt it was essential to purchase a car, I have been scouring the market for the past few months and decided with the Corsa Life.
At an on the road price of £8670.00 it was alot of money to part with, however I did have around £2000 to put down as ... ...be given £650 pounds by Vauxhall on top off my deposit.
The car was a total of £6676.60 + £148.94 for black sapphire metalic paint. Plus VAT which brings the total cost as mentioned earlier. I also received free insurance for 1 year as part of this price. You have to be over 21 and have no convictions, you can also add two other people to this policy for free. I have now been driving the car for about a month, the car comes with 15" alloy wheels, ...

Advantages: good looks from the outside Disadvantages: poor gearbox, no power wat so ever, cheap materials, timeing belt fails
Very dissapointing, after paying around 7,000 for the car 4 years ago. I've only done 44,000 miles in the car, which is about average milage. The stereo broke after no time, the timing belt went after 30K, which was making the whole car rattle to pieces, which cost me £400 to put right. The drive is poor to say the least, its dangerously slow, so you have to thrash the car in order to get up to speed. I don't even want to know 0-60. Ever since i've ... ...horrible vibration throughout the whole car, and when you open the door, it shakes, the gearknob shakes, the dash board shakes!
Everything seems to come loose from these vibrations, after a year, the door's had to be tightened, as all the bolts had come lose, and and was causing an unhealthy clip every time the door's opened. my windscreen has been changed 3 times, because a crack appears from the edge, and it grows about an inch a week, until it ...

Advantages: The overall look of the car and extra features Disadvantages: Accelation and Steering
I've recently purchased a second hand '52 plate Corsa Life. The black exterior and red interior look really impressive and I'm very happy with the extras. I have however noticed a couple of problems in which I have returned to the showroom for them to be checked over.
Firstly the initial acceleration is embarrassing. In a situation where myself and an oncoming car stop for one of us to give way - The oncoming car flashes its lights for me to pass ... ...down and the engine finally begins to rev, he/she believes that I am still waiting for them to pass. There is a huge delay in which I thought could be 'corrected' - the salesman and mechanic have both said this is what the Corsa Life is like.
Second is the steering. There has been times when driving on a slightly uneven road (anywhere in Kirklees!) and the car has suddenly turned to the left and once to the right closely missing oncoming traffic.

Advantages: Nice To Look At Disadvantages: Goes Wrong Alot!!!
...took the car to the Vauxhall dealer near me where they said that they would repair the fault and the car would be safe to drive etc. I had to pay them £120 +VAT for this. 11 weeks after they had "repaired" the fault with the dashboard the exactly same thing happened again. I took the car back to Vauxhall and they said they would have to keep car in a change the part! It took them a week to fix as first of all they ordered front fog lights for it! ... ...Anyway, after a week they finally changed the instrument panel which cost very close to £400!! Two days ago, i had another problem with it:
the oil light came on whilst driving, when i got home i lifted the bonnet to check the oil level and there was oil everywhere inside the engine. It had all leaked out all over the road etc. I called a mechanic to come and repair this and the oil pressure switch had broken causing oil to leak out. This has cost ...

Advantages: economical, spacious Disadvantages: no air con
My corsa has been a great car, but since I had a small crash it has had a few problems with stearing and suspension. All round I would reccomend purchasing a corsa, fuel economy is good and it gets me from a to b. The room in the back is great as it is a 5 door, I would never go back to a 3 door. The only thing I can think it is lacking is air conditioning. I love the way it picks up speed as other small engine cars I have driven (polo, fiesta etc) ...

Quick review of Vauxhall Corsa Life
I bought a new 2007 Corsa CDTI SXI 90bhp 3DR for travel to and from work, mainly motorway miles. Vauxhall reckoned 70mpg, it turns out your lucky to get mid 50mpg and I dont hammer it either.
That said, its a nice comfortable car with big front doors on the 3 door version, handles well too and a different car to the old Corsa which I wouldn't touch with a very long bargepole. The seats can be awkward for getting in and out of the back and the back is a bit dark too but as I'm the driver thats not a problem.
Disappointed with the MPG but got it for £8800 instead of the books £11500 so cant grumble. ...

I bought a brand new Vauxhall Corsa C 1 litre in 2003
The purchase price was £6988 with One Years free insurance , which was a really good price for a brand new car and perfect as my insurance premiums were quite high as i was a fairly new driver. I took a test drive first and the car ran smoothly and was very comfortable.

I get the car serviced every year although it is not necessary for the first 3 years although i feel it lets you keep a check on the car and keep it in good running order and a full service history helps when selling it on in the future. So its a good investment too.
