The Air con part of this car is the only real incentive to want to buy this version over all the other models - without air con. my vectra is n reg and the most comfortable car i have ever had,and i have had a few it is fantastic on petrol,very good on the motorway with plenty of power,although it seems light on the front end ,and will very easily wheel spin if you try to pull of to quick,even in the dry,there is an orange light on the dash board indicateing the management system if this comes up dont be alarmed as it comes up if you have recently put yours keys down hard,or ... The 1.8 engine in the Vectra is a strong unit, with a selection of five, well-spaced gear ratios, which allows the driver to find a suitable gait for the particular situation they are in. There is a very spacious boot, accessed by a very large hatchback opening and a 60/40 split-folding rear seat, albeit one that doesn't fold completely flat. A very able, comfortable no nonsense middle size family car. The Vectra hatchback is relaxing to drive even though it is not inspiring. It has adequate styling, but not the most up to date. Dont expect it to be a vigorous performer, the 1.8i is sufficient but it is a heavy body. Its main quality is its cruising ability. I have owned a 1.8 dual fuel which is an LPG version of this vectra for 18 months and I have found it to be very reliable and also economical. It does over 200 miles on 40 litres of gas at an approximate cost of £20. I have covered around 127,000 miles on this car and i have it serviced at every 6,000 and I have never had a problem with it. I have just returned from a trip to London. On arriving at Heathrow I went as usual to Avis for the hire car. I was sneaky an upgraded for an Extra £8 a day to get a bigger car. To my surprise I got a Vectra 1.8 Hatchback. At first it seemed like a good decision. £200 for 4 days hire. Avis was slow but I finally got to the car. After a flight you want to get in and go. Vauxhall Vectra 1.8i GLS is a great model for Reps and other company drivers. Lots of good extras like steering wheel finger tip stereo controls Nice comfy seats with lumbar supports 5 head rests arm rest cup holders fully alarmed and immobilised and of course Air con or elec sunroof. ...it's stunning, take off the Vauxhall badge and you wouldn't dismiss it in a line-up with more 'exclusive' cars. It's a beaut to park despite being as long as a hearse, which helps. I had a few hiccups with the wiring in the first couple of days and the car was showing me warning signals for all sorts of phantom illnesses like worn-out brake pads and faulty lights.
