The Vectra That Thinks It's An Omega.

AdvantagesSuperb Ride, Responsive Powerful Engine, ABS, Power Steering, Added Safety Features, Security Alarm, Plus More.

DisadvantagesNew Technology Causes Some Awkwardness.

"...One in particular, the older Vauxhall Carlton, which had a similar, square shaped, spacious front cabin area. Ready to explore the new rules, a new experience awaited my unsuspecting consciousness. I hadn't realized the extent I would be surprised. In fact, this is more akin to the Vauxhall Omega, which replaced the discontinued Carlton name. Have You Tried These Positions Before? The Car May Suit Ya! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'm ..." Read review

Vauxhall Vectra SRI 150 2.2 (150ps)

AdvantagesReliable, well built performance family hatchback.

DisadvantagesSome faults too common, it's a Vauxhall Vectra!!

"The introduction of the new 2.2 16v Eco-tech engine amongst the current line up of 6 engines; ranging from 1.6 to 2.5 V6 with two diesel power plants thrown in between, gave customers a successful comprimise between the not-so-nippy 2.0l and the fuel guzzling 2.5l V6 engine. The 2.2l 4 cylinder engine gave real flexibilitly in terms of driveability. With dollops of low end torque, and with strong useable power right up to the redline, together with ..." Read review

Motoring, with sporting accent Review with images

AdvantagesSporty feel, improvement over others in range

DisadvantagesMinor technical faults (trim, electrical)

"1998 Vectra 2.0 SRi The SRi (2.0) is a more defined car, than the "normal" range cars. This is helped by "uprated" suspension and wider track tyres. Interior features are slightly similar to the standard range, but enhanced by improved trim, based on the CDX. Performance is near to that of the GSi, as there are many complainants of the GSi, who have also driven the SRi! The vehicle is a compromise between the top of the range GSi (which is ..." A family car?

AdvantagesCheap family car, budget

DisadvantagesLose lots of money, in no way is it flash

"Me and my wife have always gone for top models and sports cars and in March 99 we had 2 good cars but felt that we were worried to take them some places because of the fear of them been stolen. So we went and looked at family cars such as the Vectra and Peuget 406 and some others after looking at all we decided that a Vectra would be the best for us. We went to loal dealers and could get an R reg for around £12,000 we went to an auction and picked ..." Read review

New Engine - No Difference

AdvantagesNice sound

DisadvantagesPoor performance, poor economy

"...new 2.2 engine in the Vauxhall Vectra. Having run several over the past few years with a mix of 1.8, 2.0 and 2.5 engines I was intrigued as to why Vauxhall had gone for this unusual size. After 500+ miles I really cannot see what the fuss is about. The engine has one redeeming quality, it sounds almost as good as the 2.5V6 under acceleration and certainly far better than the 'thrashy' sound of both the 1.8 and 2.0. However the engine does not give ..." Read review

Now thats what i call a car

AdvantagesSee review

DisadvantagesNone as yet

"Over the past few weeks i hav been fortunate enough to drive a variety of cars, the Lexus IS200, Toyota Avensis 1.8 and now this, the Vectra 2.2i. (see seperate reviews). Out of the three, the vectra is a clear out and out winner. The model i am currently driving is in effect the entry level LS, but dont let that put you off. For £15025.00 not only did i get metalic paint and 15" alloy wheels but the following: remote control CD player, ABS, ..." Read review

Vauxhall Vectra SRi 2.2i 150 Saloon

AdvantagesComfortable..Looks Good...Fast as Fook!

DisadvantagesIs quite greedy on the petrol if you have a heavy right foot!!

"I've got the saloon version of this model!! I would HIGHLY advise you give or get someone who knows how to check the engine over thoroughly as mine is burning oil to the extent im having to put 1 litre of oil in every week, when driving it didnt seem to have any power at all and would missfire but then would burst to life for the whole of 5 seconds, took it back to garage numerous times as it was still under warrenty and work was carryied out on it ..." Style and Reliability at an affordable price

AdvantagesStyle, Reliability, Comfortable

DisadvantagesFuel Consumption a little bit high

"What can I say, I love my SRI! I used to own an Audi A4 before I purchased my beloved Vectra and to be totally honest I would never choose another vehicle. The performance of this car is second to none, I love the onboard computer, it tells me the temperature outside, average fuel consumtion, fuel range, MPG etc, and I find that the Traffic Master is brilliant for motorway driving, (especially if you do not remember what junction you have just passed)! ..." Quick review of Vauxhall Vectra 2.2i Hatchback

"A fairly good family car. Isn't the comfiest car in the world but does a good job. It can carry up to 5 passengers. It has a fairly large boot to store alot of things in for those family day outs.

Vectra SRi 140

Advantagesfast!

Disadvantagesthirsty!

"...visit www.vectra-sport.com We love 'em! Given that Vauxhall are replacing the model next year prices are falling NOW, but I drive 500 miles a week, and have car regularly serviced. Michelin tyres are best for wear (expect about 20K miles when swaped rear->front). There are some niggly faults which VX know about, but have great difficulty solving. Most famous is an idel problem, and there are 4 modifications for this! Their customer service ..." Read review

Dont buy me

Advantagesits a car

Disadvantageseverything

"my best advice for you as ,someone who used to work in the motor trade, is dont buy a vectra. They are horrible , boreing cars and not a patch on their younger brother the astra - a car well worth buying. The drive is terrible the gears feel tacky , the interior is boreing and the same as all other vauxalls and it is slow! If it comes to you as a company car - as they often are - and you have no other choice , try and get hold of the 2.5 v6 at ..." Read review
