Zafira - Oh how I love you. Check out my hands.

Advantages: 7 seats, decent drive. Ours is silver.
Disadvantages: Not a lot - a bit ugly.

...think 4. All done at Vauxhall apart from the last one, where we went to the independent garage round the corner. Nothing major needs doing. Yet. However - twice now, the engine warning light has popped up with the useful manual telling us to take it to a Vauxhall garage to attach to the computers. Both times the warning was an error. Both times it cost £50 to attach it to the computer to tell us it was an error. In a way, it is a testament to modern ...
...longer attach your rear shelf. Vauxhall obviously didn't do their research, or failed to take into account that children are sort of retarded. As further proof, when a short 11 year-old opens the boot to get football boots out and then tries to shut the boot - he can't reach. Obviously the eleven-year old will jump up to grab the boot lip, allowing his weight to pull it down. If he grabs the middle. If he jumps to grab the right edge instead, his ...

Zafira - Does exactly what it says on the tin!

Advantages: Reliable, sturdy, practical
Disadvantages: not finished particularly well.

...I have had no issues. Vauxhall usually perform very well, in terms of reliability. Also in the event of something going wrong, parts are generally not as expensive as most. Having read around on the subject, I believe the engines are pretty tough, and are better equipped to handle anything that is thrown at them. Also, the fact that the car itself is pretty basic, means that there is less to go wrong. In my opinion, you are getting a basic car, but ...
...reflected in the price, as it is one of the more reasonable MPS's around reliability 9/10 ----------------- Overall 51/70 What you see, is what you get. The main point lost by this car, are aesthetic ones. If you are looking for a real looker, that will turn head then look away. You may want a new Galaxy, or an Altea XL. But, if you want a practical, and somewhat indestructable car then this is right up your street. With starting prices of £13,995, ...

...hat were Fiat Multipla and Vauxhall Zafira. Our main criterion was to fit 4 of us plus 2 grand parents occasionally in one car. We didn't want something too big as most of the time there will be just 4 of us. Also our budget was not allowing us to go for a new car or most expensive choices. We have established that Toyota Corolla Verso is excellent car but most models were 5 seaters and it was costing much more. Multipla looked perfect as it has ...
...from the dealer specialising in Vauxhall Zafiras and he said that most popular colours are silver and black and they always come with 100-200 pounds extra price tag. We had a choice to go for other colours but they were so bad that it was obvious why silver and black were so popular. We got our black 2004 Zafira and we never looked back. I am still teased by my wife that I can always switch to another business if my current career goes in the wrong ...

The New Zafira - Its a bit boring

Advantages: I only have to keep it for 9,000 miles. Drives OK
Disadvantages: boring, dull, ordinary and a bit outdated

...loaner is the much vaunted Vauxhall Zafira club, which I picked up early in the week and have now had for about 1,000 miles. Looks and Styling 2/5 ================ It's a Vauxhall, never renowned for their styling or attractiveness, it has all the character and style of a loaf of stale bread, and it is about the same shape, no matter, I don't need it for its pulling power. Build Quality 3/5 ============ Unusually for a Vauxhall it seems to be ...
...drivability, this is the best Vauxhall I have driven. Visibility is good but it is let down by heavy steering, heavy gear changing and a lumpy clutch. Cornering is sluggish and unwieldy, tight bends on country lanes are not the best place to find this out. It's OK on motorways but there aren't any in Dorset. The gearbox is decidedly average, it is possible to change gears smoothly but you really have to concentrate. After 120,000 miles in a Peugeot ...

Advantages: looks and fills like your driving a car
Disadvantages: seven seats

I start my review with the look and the feel of the seven seater. This is a very good looking seven seater from the outside , its smaller in length and height and really does look like a car from the out side.I had the espace before and that felt like you were about 10 foot away from the window screen. This is so different you feel like you are sitting in a car , apart from sitting slightly higher maybe. The comfort of the seats is very good as well ...

I have to put it up but its not clipped in so not very safe. The look and feel inside is very good, this is a very comfortable drive . And gives you that fill good factor.(if you can have it driving a seven seater lol). The seats are fine as well there's plenty of space and there's lots of room. But i must state my children are young my oldest is only 8.If you had two ...

Disadvantages: no space for shopping or luggage when all seats in use

I got our vauxhall zafira in July 2003 through the motability scheme, we were getting desperate for a car, our old car had 7 seats and a good size boot but it was old and well past its sell by date, i was then 8 months pregnant and suffering from a very painfull back complaint which i have still not recovered from so as well as the car been old i also found it very difficult to get in and out of because the car was so low, so we needed a car with ...
...i am pleased with my vauxhall zafira with its adjustable comfy seats on short journeys for me but my husband and children all say it is a comfy car, although it is quite roomy inside it could have done with more leg room in the very back of the car, access to the back seats can be difficult if you have other passengers allready in the car, We are planning on changing the car in 18 months time and im sorry to say we wont be buying a vauxhall zafira ...

Not Suitable for Families with small children

Advantages: lots of seats in a compact people carrier, air con
Disadvantages: Difficulty getting into rear seats

I have only ever been in and driven one "People Carrier" so maybe the complaints I have about this car are common; I'd like to think not as we are on the look out for one! We hired a Zafira for three days recently to transport 3 adults (all under 5'7'') and two children under 3. We realised that this is a small people carrier but with 7 seats we thought it would be adequate for our needs. The biggest problem we has was with the seating arrangements. ...
...the back so fixed the child seats into the middle row of seats. The seat was a bench type seat arrangement and with three seat belts. However, with two child seats fitted it was a very tight squeeze to get a person in the middle and so they has to sit in one of the rear seats. No problem, you may think? Well, it was impossible for them to get into the seat via the doors because you had to fold the middle seats backrest forward to gain access - impossible ...

GOOD VALUE MPV WITH LOW RUNNING COSTS

Advantages: Plenty of car for the money, cheap to run and maintain.
Disadvantages: No air con on the base model

I have one of these on a "W" plate 2000. I would like to add a review in terms of the Zafira's LONG TERM reliability. The only thing that I have ever had to purchase for my Zafira is the tyres. If you are looking for a durable and cheap to run second hand people carrier you can't go far wrong with one of these. The car itself is stylish and rugged at the same time. In terms of reliability they just keep going and going. Insurance for the Zafira is ...
...is around group 10 - 12. The Zafira on the other hand is rated at group 7, saving vast amounts on the yearly insurance costs. Fuel economy again is outstanding compared to other MPV's on the market. My Zafira is now approaching 80,000 miles and still returns an average of 32MPG. On long distance this usually exceeds 38MPG, again far better than other rival makes. Another useful feature of the Zafira is its low maintenance costs and only requires ...

i have always wanted a zafira so when my mum took ill and our needs changed overnight we traded in our recently bought small car and came home with a zafira! we have two boys under 3 and usually have 4 or more people in our car, including an elderly granny and my mum who has dementia. it seemed practical to buy a 7-seater instead of taking two cars everywhere and was wonderful for a few months. having read many reviews recently i have to agree ...

Good Family Car

Advantages: 7 seater, Feels more like a car to drive, not too big and bulky
Disadvantages: Can be a struggle with car seats and seating arrangements

I bought this car on an 06 plate in December for £10995 with 10000 miles on the clock. I found this to be a good price since it was on average miles, excellent condition and only 8 months old. The decision to buy this car was prompted due to the new car seat laws. Having two children myself and due to the fact we often take our niece out we needed something that would accomodate 3 car seats which most cars now fail to do. Exterior - The exterior ...
...It does not look bulky and oversized in appearance and could decieve people into thinking its actually just a large car. There is a nice shape to it and ours also has alloy wheels which I feel just finishes the car off. It is available in a variety of different colours with coordinating interior so is worth shopping around as interior styles can vary a lot depending on whether they were upgraded when purchased brand new. Interior - Very comfortable, ...

...have a light interior. Vauxhall have realised the error of their ways and put a dark interior into later models. It is very easy to keep clean. Driving is what we have a car for and it is a real pleasure in a Zafira. Raising the driver's seat is great as you feel quite high up which should help visibility. However there is a blind spot created by the door posts at the front which makes you waste time at junctions by having to crane your neck. I'm ...

There weren't many flat roads in Devon on our recent holiday and the car didn't complain once. With our last Zafira we had the spare wheel stolen but before we got this one we had a wheel lock put on. I think it should be fitted as standard but we had to pay £60 for the modification. ...

Small on the outside, large on the inside.

Advantages: Seven seats.
Disadvantages: Lack of luggage space when all seats in use.

We have aquired a Vauxhall Zafira club 1.6 on the Disability Mobility scheme, this scheme allows you to hire a car for three years in return for your Disability mobility payments. We decided to choose the Zafira because our two children are growing fast and we thought the extra space would be useful. As I was used to driving a Vauxhall Astra Club, I initially found the Zafira quite sluggish and felt almost that I was driving a van. The seating position ...

Although I do find that there is very little luggage space when all the seats are in use. There is a small space behind the back seats and space under the middle seats. However when the back seats are folded down you are left with a large boot, which has the ability to be made larger ...

Vauxhall Zafira Club Auto - after 18 months

Advantages: Lots of space for people and wheelchairs
Disadvantages: Not as responsive as I would like, not particularly stylish

I acquired this car through the motability scheme in December 2002. I have decided to write a review, because after 18 months of use I feel that I can really evaluate the pros and cons. My initial impression of the car was really quite favourable. The air conditioning was definitely a good point, I was warned at the point of taking delivery that I must ensure that I used the air conditioning frequently, otherwise I would encounter a nasty "used ...
...that I have not had a need to use the air conditioning on a vast number of occasions, but I have not noticed any nasty smells. Obviously the size of the car was extremely important to me, and the fact that I have to accommodate 2 wheelchairs meant that the boot area was one of the most important features. I have found that it is possible to carry 2 standard wheelchairs in the boot as long as only 5 seats are used, one of the wheelchairs can be open ...

Quick review of Vauxhall Zafira 1.6i 16v

Initially I was scathing about the Zafira, I mean it's not exactly a head turner is it? But then I needed to move a washing machine from Bondi to Surry Hills and my colleague (who incidentally is the nicest guy around) offered the use of his Zafira. Wow! What a car! It has to be the most functional and practical piece of automotive design I have ever encountered. The seats folded away the washing machine eased in without a problem. Amazing. I'm happy to put my previous statement on a plate, add a little humble pie and eat my words! The Zafira is a truly great car! ...
