Very disappointed! I have the French map only version with the latest software Vs7. I brought it due to the full European life time license for live traffic information including major roads not just the motorways as some have. Unfortunately to receive this information you need to be connected to the car mount and have its external aerial connected. This makes forward planning an testing experience of hanging out a window with a damp finger against ... ...a FM signal. But back to basics. Version 7 was only released in the UK at end of October I seem to have a pre launch version . I contacted Via Michelin, not easy, and they have added a rushed French manual on line but its poor pictures and layout make it very difficult to use. it seems any changes to try and improve the poor performance of previous versions have failed. I offered to give any advice or information but as yet only an acknowledgement.

Purchased this product for business use, and I am satisfied with the product. Occasionally have had to wait a little longer to recalculate a route, and can sometimes delay the turnings so you have to turn around, but aside from this it has some great features such as Speed Camera and Speed warnings, Hands Free telephone connection, and Point of Interest locator. Another great feature is the traffic warning, which I believe is an additional cost on other systems. ...

I can only add to the bad reviews this GPS is getting. Slow to lock on, very slow to notice any deviation from the planned route (sometimes hanging in the process) and slow to reroute. Location often appears to be 20m or more short of where you are. Maps way out of date, even on main routes. Instructions not clear at complex junctions leading to taking the wrong road. It is not very configurable with only basic settings and has few functions like add where I am now as a POI. The traffic update works well but the information is invariably out of date (Not ViaMichelins fault). Included Michelin Guides could be useful (but not to me). All in all a big disappointment. ...

very disapointed.
System appear to have a number of basic bugs - is this a windows CE problem ?
- GPS lock in time can be several minutes
- the system runs slow or hangs - requiring reset
- zoom functions slow - different zoom for planning route than when navigating.
- bugs in the vocal commands mean the vocal commands can be sometimes inconsistent with the map
- menu system very inconsistent and confusing
- incomplete information in respect of first time setup/initialisation
- basic missing functions e.g
- no north direction setting when in navigation mode
- not possible to delete a route after it is finished
- not possible to touch POI icon and get info during navigation mode.
- Radars that have been present for several years not yet in the map. ...

Purchased this GPS 1 year ago when it was launched. Very disappointed with it. There is a delay of up to 200-300 m when it is directing you. Additionally, traffic antennae works sporadically. Even when it is active (green symbol), it does not re-route me at all. I've seen my brother's Garmin and it's alot better. Don;'t waste your money on any of the Michelin systems. You'll be let down when others are alot better. ...

Advantages: It has traffic info Disadvantages: Satellites reception is poor
I just bought a via michelin GPS x 970T & I came to know that it has a big problem in detecting the satelites. it will not detect the sats if you are not moving and even if you move it takes about 2 to 3 km to get a satellite.Many times it wont detect at all.My friend bought a x960 & he has the same problem.When I took it back to the shop they say that you have to connect the external antenna to make it work,I did so but the problem remains the same.My ...

More and more people use navigation units. Keep your unit in a holder attached to the ... more
dashboard, and you will always have it within easy reach! You can easily take the unit with you when leaving the vehicle. The holders can be adjusted in order to avoid light reflection on the screen. Attach onto ProClip Mounting Platform.
