Review of ViaMichelin X-980 T Europe

A very good unit, but it has a serious problem with the TMC function. If you can manage without tis then it's the best of the bunch. Quick and easy routing and very accurate. Backup support from Michelin is terrible, no one on Tech support can help and they never call you back. Emailing is a waste of time 1 week plus for a return email. I have tried four of these X980T V7 units each has the same problem. If you need a sat nav unit with static speed camera detection then this an excellent buy, But.. If you need the other functions and any form of support from Viamichelin then don't go near it.. they really are a disaster !!! ...

I have had the X-980T since January 2007 and I am delighted with it. It is easy to use, the mounting is well designed and keeps the unit stable. The touch screen facility works well, the on-sceen instructions are easy to follow and the information available is quite awesome. The ability to download routes, maps, speed camera locations and a vast range of other points of interest from across Europe directly from the Michelin website through my laptop ...
...I drive a cabriolet and with the hood down I have difficulty in hearing the instructions, but I have resolved this by feeding the audio output on the unit through the audio input on my car stereo and then via the car speakers. It is well designed, robust, reliable, easy to use and has superb support from Michelin. ...
