    Advantages Advantages there seems to be more in here than there was in the series

    Disadvantages Disadvantages you might have to enjoy the series to appreciate the book

    This year (although I wasn’t lucky enough to get it) I put this book on my birthday list, along with money . . . and naturally, I got money from everyone that disappeared a bit faster than I planned, so I still haven’t bought this book and - as a back-up plan - resorted to ordering it from my local library. Anyone who saw the Victorian Farm series on TV might remember that the residents of the Victorian Farm were the historian Ruth Goodman and archaeologists Peter Ginn and Alex Langlands, and that the programme covered some very diverse aspects of farming life (handily summarised, I thought ... more
