Advantages: long cable, fast heat up Disadvantages: they get very hot, very quickly so risk of buring yourself if not careful
After my old strighteners gave up the ghost I decided to buy a new, ceramic pair. After searching the internet, I found these straighteners at a good price with a impressive list of specifications so decided to give them a go. Firstly, they are distinctive colour; I have not seen any other cream coloured straighteners around. The long cord is especially handy if your plug sockets are not particularly close to any mirrors! They heat up very quickly ... ...for at least the rest of the day too. The plate size is 1" and it is coated with crushed tourmaline gem that results in the emitance of infrared heat which subjects the hair to less damage. My hair has certainly been less coarse and I don’t get as many split ends or ends snapping off as I use too.
I have read some reviews saying that people have had problems with the ceramic coat pealing off but I have had mine now for 6 months and I have not encountered ...

Advantages: These are just great for using on thick wavy/curly hair Disadvantages: none whatsoever
...already have a pair of vidal sassoon hair straighteners, and have only used them twice in the last 3 years. They just did not work on my thick wavy hair. So in November, I had some e-vouchers to use up on amazon shopping website, and noticed that vidal sassoon had brought out a new "white colured" straightener, that had 1" Tourmaline plates which are smoother than Ceramic ones, ensuring there is less drag on the hair; and they emit far more infrared ... ...of the hair shaft quicker, leaving the inside more hydrated. Tourmaline is made of crushed gems/jewels. The straighteners also have 25 variable heat settings, which I liked the idea of. There is an on/off switch, and the 25 heat settings are on a separate dial feature, I have found the setting number 6 to be ample enough to straighten my hair.
Once I got the straighteners, I was absolutely surprised, by how quickly they heated up, within a few seconds ...
