I was a happy customer with VM in the UK for many years, and their service remained fair (free voicemail, fair text) and costs remained static. VM use T-Mobile's network, and I guess their original contract only included voice and text, not data. Whilst calls to other VM users were cheap, the 40p/min cross-network tariff has become pretty expensive in comparison to other offerings, and their "unlimited" internet for a day tariff is a sick joke (someone ... ...are outrageous! Meanwhile competitors came along who offered much better deals on PAYG, and special rates for casual internet use. Three for example have a flat rate for all networks, free voicemail, and a reasonable charge for data. To get a PAC code out of VM you can use their web message form, and you need to write the magic words thus: "I am leaving virginmobile, I do not wish to discuss it with customer retention team. Quick review of Virgin Mobile
been a customer since day 1. recently had cause to call customer service, more this year than ever before, obviously something is wrong. The service is bad, the advisors rude, they lie to you to fob you off and get you off the phone, they do no know their product or care whether you have a problem or not and they speak very poor English, which when being technical can be abit of a problem. If you question them at all they disconnect your call. And try getting through to make a complaint, It can't be done! ...

...not because I particularly liked Virgin Mobile Pay as you go, its just that I didnt really use it until recently.
Purchasing the phone was rediculously easy, so much so I cannot remember getting it, so it was clearly no problem at all (I hold grudges). Also I know that at the time I paid a measly £5 and it was a pretty good phone back then.
However in the last few months my Pay as you go tarriff has turned into a money drain for me and i've had ... ...bundle because we already get Virgin media with TV, Broadband and Home Phone but the website is so complicated we cant work out if they have one or not. But we are presuming not for now.
I can now tell you that I am looking at an Orange Dolphin Pay as you go that gives 300 free texts when you top up £10 a month, that is considerably better than Virgin's Pay as you go tariffs. They also conveniantly sent 2 sim cards to my house free because everyone ...

I have been with Virgin Mobile for several years now and have been somewhat happy with them; they have recently put their prices up making them not much different to some other networks.
Their coverage is massive, I get signal in some of the most random places where other networks can't. Virgin don't appear to have much of a WAP network for PAYG customers or people who have phones not originally from Virgin, I have the P1I which is an O2 unlocked ... ...Virgin not having settings for it.
I recently requested my PAC code as I am thinking of leaving, there was no easy way to request my PAC code online and had to contact their support but it came through rather quickly after that.
All in all good customer service, prices were good but support for phones is limited. ...

My previous experience of virgin mobile is that they are no the most helpful of companies, not only did they make a lot of simple mistakes but they tried to charge me my 18 month contract all in one go because i was one month late with the payment, after i had contacted them and told them i was going to be late on the payment due. Virgin Mobile,part of the Virgin Media Group, is the UK's largest virtual mobile network now offers a choice of 2 Pay As You Go tariffs.

...took one last look at virgin mobile and after reading there terms it seemed they did not need to see ID just do a credit check against your name! fantastic i thought, so i went and i picked my phone and my tarrif and i sent my application to virgin via email.
Within the hour i got an email back saying they had recived my application and would contact me with the result after the credit check. that was on the friday evening, by sunday morning i had ... ...of minutes.
The plus with virgin is you get roll over for one month, whatever you have left over (for example 50 mins 200 txts) will be added to your next months package but to be honest ive found that i seem to always have roll over and for some reason i always get a 1000 txts a month and about 400 mins!? it is my roll over but i seem to use my phone loads but always get the same roll over!!? but hey thats fine by me!

...N73 and at the time Virgin were doing the best 12 month contract deal around. I left Orange after 6 years with them and have never looked back. Virgin are always easy to get through to, the callcentre staff are pleasant and helpful and you feel they value your custom. Nothing short of a miracle in this day and age. I stayed with Orange through laziness but paid through the nose for it and when I look back I think I got nothing but poor customer service, ... ...on your phone via the internet are pretty good. I am sure there will always be exceptions to the rule but my experience of Virgin on contract is excellent and I would recommend Virgin to anyone. Virginmobie is a huge cheater.
They said that if I register my credit/debit card,
Top-ups will be made when and only when I want it.
As I wanted to change my service plan,
I didn't Top-up so that the new plan will be started after I Top-up.
But without noticing me, Virginmobile charged directly
from my debit card two different charges of
the old plan and the new plan.
In the result, I simply lost as much as the fee of the old plan.
I'm so ... ...them several times and all failed to reach a person.
They use automatic voice system which keeps you away from
the real solution.
Moreover, their phones SUCK.
My phone lasts only about 2 hours with fully charged battery.
The purchase of this phone is the biggest mistake
I've ever made in 2007.

Wrote a letter to Virgin Mobile Customer Service which run an "investigation" and the outcome was sorry your credit check is not good because on top of Equifax we have our internal one (which one?).
3 years with Telewest/Virgin Media, 3 years with Virgin Mobile Pay as you go, no issues, always paid and now this service?
Phoned again the Customer Service which told me, sorry the case is closed you can't apply!!

Virgin Mobile may be subject to heavy critcism, but I can do nothing but sing its praises! Virgin Mobile is a "virtual network" which means it has lower overheads than the traditional networks as it doesn't own its own masts, etc which means it can pass the benefits onto the consumer in offering lower call charges. Virgin happens to use One2One's infrastructure which is the lowest capacity in the United Kingdom but in Bradford I get excellent call ... ...or pay as you go, Virgin offers a simple to understand call tarriff with no line rental (if you pay monthly you have to undergo a credit check). Calls are charged at 15ppm for the first five minutes which is relatively expensive but after that your calls are charged at just 5ppm. This goes for any time of the day and if you look at Vodafones peak call charges at 35ppm thats pretty cheap! Those call charges are to other Virgin customers and landline ...

I've been using virgin movile for about 3 months now, with excellent savings on call and text prices, especially with other virgin users!
I was slightly dubious at first due to the obvious fact that they're pretty much cheaper than any other company out there.
I've been with all the other companies before, and quite frankly some are rude and some are just plain DAFT!
You have Orange, whom if you ring up, they'll say your name at least 3 times ... ...take a chance on the Virgin megastore we passed - boy are we glad we did!
The manager was more than happy to help, she took us outside of the shopping centre to see if we had any luck connecting to the network, she rang up the technical helpdesk on her own phone to see if there was any luck there.
After long conversations about the problems, we were gobsmacked when she offered my friend a free phone, which was guarantee'd to work, as it seemed ...

...have been on vodaphone, orange, virgin and vodaphone (Again) and Virgin mobile is by far my favourite.
Pros
* 3p texts to other Virgin mobiles. This is by default. You don't have to buy a certain amount of credit per month to get this price, IT IS ALL OF THE TIME. (Great if your girlfriend is on the same network)
* Cheap calls to other virgin mobile users. 15p/min for the first 5 mins (Thats 75p) and 5p/min after for the rest of the day. So after ... ...and MMS is coming to virgin mobile soon in 2004. I'm sure the prices for this will be competitive.
* FREE to recieve and listen to voicemail. (this is rare with other networks)
* Very good customer services. Cost a flat rate of 10p when you talk to them and they are very helpful everytime.
* Virginextras, what a great service. Get texts sent to you for whatever sport you are interested in for FREE. Also includes lottery results, stars and many ...

...Virgin send a statement every month, approximately 14 days before the bill is debited. Or they should do. Quite often my bills arrive late. They are fully itemised and it's nice to know that I can text other virgin phones for just 3p.
When I've needed to contact customer services they have acknowledged emails immediately and dealt with them promptly. I phoned them on one occasion when my phone was blocked. This was because I'd forgot to inform them ... ...It would have been better if they had phoned me immediately to ask what was happening but the girl I spoke to was incredibly helpful. She took my details and said she would call back within the hour and did. Everything was sorted immediately.
I am very impressed and would buy from them again. ...
