Advantages: Small, light, easy to use, long battery life Disadvantages: Small poor quality screen, Average image quality
The Vivitar Vivicam3105s is quite a small camera and easy to use out of the box for anyone who has had even the briefest of uses of a digital camera. It is small but yet offers a very nice 3.2mp resolution and offers up to 5mp via interpolation (the camera basically guesses what to make up the rest of the image with).
It has many features which include, webcam and video as well as the standard expected options. This was a replacement for my old ... ...size of it. While the Vivitar is small however it does have its flaws.
My 2 biggest problems with this camera are the quality of the images and the display. When taking photographs the camera tends to require a totally static scene (or a tripod), without too much variety in colours and distances. In scenes with people even just waving at the camera results in quite annoyingly motion blurred images. On busy scenes where lots of different colours ...

Advantages: 1.5" screen is good, a good camera for kids. Disadvantages: breaks,flimsy, eats up batteries
...++So who are Vivitar?++
Vivitar are a company based in california who specialise in the manufacter of cameras and camera equipment. They do make some really good cameras and have wokred with kodak to produce some disposible cameras. Some of their models are very good and advanced cameras but this one isn't.
++What does the camera look like?++
The camera is small and thin and very light. My camera is silver but I know that you can also get it in ... ...I specifically asked for a silver one but got a blue one and so had to take it back so i was a bit annoyed at Tesco. Make sure you tell them exactly what you want. The height of the camera is just 8.95 cm and the width is 5.6cm and the diameter 2.5 cm. It's a very small light camera that is good for taking about with you and can fit into your pocket or handbag/rucksack easily. The camera lens is on the right of the camera and above it is the flash ...

Advantages: Compact, Robust, Easy to Use Disadvantages: Poor Zoom, Struggles in low light
This was a birthday present from my husband. Despite my initial doubts about the quality (of the camera and the pictures), I have subsequently been very pleased with some of the results I have achieved using this camera.
~~~~~~
Looks:
The camera is a silver finish, and made of a tough plastic. It is very light, and small enough to fit in your jeans pocket, even in the case (which is included). Dimensions are 9 x 5.6 x 2.4, and quoted weight is ... ...that makes this unattractive looking either.
~~~~~~
Features:
The features are very basic, this is little more thana 'point and shoot' camera, equivalent to the cheaper non-digital cameras that you can buy. See below for details on each.
~~~~~~
Screen:
This is a little on the small side at1.5 inch, and in some lights it can be difficult to fully appreciate the image. In better lighted situations however, the image can be seen quite clearly. ...
Advantages: Small Lightweight with Long battery life Disadvantages: Poor quality pictures, toy-like, small screen
I got this camera when my other one was left on a bus.
It was cheap at only £32 so i thought i had a bargain. I was soon disapointed. The camera is small and lightweight, thus making it ideal to take on a night out or in a small bag. The battery lasts a long time, but this doesn't compensate for the quality of the pictures which is simply AWFUL. Pictures are the main purpose of a camera, yet the screen was very very small, making it hard to view ... ...taken were very blurry (not just my bad skills, because my friend has this camera and problem too), and when put on a computer they were still bad, and the people had 3 eyes in some of them. Another disadvantage of this camera was the flash. It did have a flash but when used, everyone just looked pure white, so white you couldnt even see the features, only the silouttte. So literally it was a flash. The camera is maybe suitable for a childs first ...
Advantages: Small light and easy to use Disadvantages: Pitiful amount of photos before memory is full
I bought this camera because I wanted to take some pictures to put some items up for auction on ebay. Its nice and light, and easy to use but the sad thing is the amount of pictures it takes! On top quality, which is five megapixels, you can only take two pictures. This means that it really isnt worth taking out of the house on days out because of course you need to take many more pictures than that at say, a day out at the seaside, particularly ... ...memory sticks that increase the memory and then you can take many more photos, but thats not something I have yet done. I am still taking photos with it in the house though, and for that purpose it is adequate. I suppose it wasn't expensive (£29.95 I think) but it could be so much better! ...
Quick review of Vivitar ViviCam 3105s
I bought this camera for my young daughter for her birthday and we were VERY disappointed with it.
1) it gets through AAA batteries very quickly AND it won't work properly unless they are almost new. (it never works when you need it).
2) I could not get the software to work with the camera. I gave up and bought a USB card reader instead.
3) I am not at all impressed with the picture quality. This is a 4 Mega pixel camera, but you would never know it (not even close to my Sony 3.3 Mega pixel).
I am going to throw this camera away, spend more and buy a new compact camera for all of us to use.
This was a bad buy and a waste of money and time! ...
Quick review of Vivitar ViviCam 3105s
Got this camera from ebay - it's true what they say - you get what you pay for -
Good Points: Nice, very small easy on the eye
-Comes with everything you would need such as batteries, usb cable, pouch, strap, cd with photo express & photo explorer(for pc only) & Pc cam driver.
- Very easy to use, not too many complicated buttons and instructions to follow.
Decent for outdoor simple pictures.
Very decent price for a digital/PC camera.
Bad Points:Camera is very poor quality, everything from taking the picture to providing very poor lighting, you would need to live in a tv studio to provide enough lighting!
Goes through batteries very very quickly, at first i thought there was a fault but soon became accustomed to it turning itself off, should come with a free charger even at the price. ...
...have to do any of that since it's fixed focus and fixed exposure, but Vivitar have still managed to make it faff around doing nothing so the shot becomes worthless. Particularly furtrating with kids and pets as they are out opf shot when the shutter goes. To sum up: Pointless!!! ...
Advantages: price, small and light Disadvantages: flash white-out, poor auto-focus, non-flash white out.
I bought one of these cameras for my wife for Christmas and was very disappointed with the results. I have used many digital cameras and after testing this one out, would consider it one of the poorest.
The flash is completely OTT and unless you stand about a mile away from the subject, all detail is replaced with white.
Blanching was strangely also a problem with non-flash photos. We went to a park last week during a very dull day, and somehow ... ...of the shots.
The auto-focus also leaves a lot to be desired, with many straight-forward shots being out of focus. I was very careful to keep the camera still, so this was not the cause.
I have now returned this camera and would advise anybody to avoid it! ...
