Advantages: Compact, handy and sharp images Disadvantages: ONly 3 mp, no optical zoom, no lithium batteries
...the digital revolution.!
This Vivitar is a good starter off in that direction.
Price-wise these are available on the high street for around £60.
They come complete with 2 AA batteries, 14mb of inbuilt memory, a carrying case, the cables and software to download to TV or PC, and a pretty good manual.
It has an oddity for a digital camera in that the focus is altered by a manual movement of the lens at the front - giving portrait or landscape options.!
... ...that we have come to expect on modern digitals.
The 1.5" display can be altered for brightness, though even my poor sight could handle the factory set option.
You can alter the EV setting so that the camera copes better with things like fluorescent tubes of different types.
You can alter the settings for quality of image from the full 3 megapixels down the scale, if you want to get more photos on your memory.
The other option is to use an SD ...

Advantages: good price, light and easy to use. Disadvantages: No view finder, low light capture unable to make night shots, too strong flash
Great Value for your money if you want something very very compact with reasonable quality.
The only thing I miss is a view finder, but the little screen on the back is quite clear and almost never disappears its image under bright light.
It doesn't need any driver when photos needed to be downloaded to the pc, but it does when you would want to use it as webcam.
The colors can be vivid and the user interface is simple, easy and very logic to ... ...be used for a long period without consuming rapidilly its battery.
Its is very small and light to carry as an instrument of image capture every moment.
Its flash is very strong, let's say, too strong , I needed to cover it with paper tape.
Not indicate for nightshots, only to snap people within short distance. ...

Advantages: Compact size, cheap, good all around camera Disadvantages: Only 3 megapixels
I bought a Vivitar 3750 a couple of years ago from a TV channel as I thought it was a great offer. For just over £100 it came with a bundle of software, USB cable, batteries, case, memory card and a comprehensive manual and the camera was 3megapixel, quite good at the time. The version you can find in the shops today will not probably include the software bundle however all you need is the installation CD which comes included anyway.
Two years ago ... ...for the price you can find it nowadays, even cheaper than two years ago, it is really worth your money.
Great for someone who is not really into technology but would like an easy to use digital camera.
Small yet strong, the Vivitar 3750 ticks all the boxes. ...

Advantages: Good Quality Object Pictures Disadvantages: Not A Good Web Cam
The market at the moment is flooded with lower branded cheap digital camera's i chose the 3750 because of it's very cheap price and it's compatability but these days as long as it's got a USB your laughing , For e-baying and the like the camera is perfect ,easy to use basically a 1 button operation it handle's natural light quite nicely but if and when you try to use it as a web cam you will have nothing but frustration as it cannot handle any sort ... ...contrast with the strongest pigment colour "everything turns red"after hours and days of going into all sort's of settings menu's software and on the camera itself .Web cams them self can be as cheap as a 10 pounds these days so if you are after something cheap but purposeful and the web cam feature doesnt bother you then this is a good cheap camera, Perfect for e-bayers ...
