Advantages: Very easy to use indeed Disadvantages: Zaps non-rechargable batteries fairly fast
I bought this camera ff eBay just before Christmas 2004 and it is amazing. I cannot praise it enough.
The simple yet attractive design is pretty to look and and yet even my Mother can work it so I know it has to be useable by almost anyone!
On the back you have a mere 3 buttons and one direction panel to cope with, none of this one button for everything the camera can do stuff.
It has various picture modes including night mode, red eye reduction ... ...digital zoom but I find the picture looks a bit pixelated when you use this but it's not that bad.
All the main functions on the camera can be changed using the very simple menu system and everything is displayed on the LCD screen. You are able to view pictures and movies you've taken and delete them if you decide you don't want them which is handy as you can free up space on your memory card.
It doesn't come with much internal memory though and ...

Advantages: Sleek, quite small, excellent quality Disadvantages: when plugged in usb, battery used quick
Vivitar in the photography world are pretty new to the business as they usually manufacture things such as binoculars. Forgetting this, Vivitar make some of the best digital cameras around with high quality images and good looking machines at a lower price than some competitors such as Canon.
Iv'e only just got this camera (for 2004 x-mas) and i'm struggling to put this down because as a keen photographer, the camera seems to be stuck to my hand ... ...is full. Thats probably another con. You have to buy an SD Memory card but with a 256mb one, you can get 170 pictures. So get clicking away. It also has three flash functions. You have a usual flash, a flash for outdoors and another flash to reduce red eye.
The movie mode is quite good aswell. At first your debating on whether movie making on this camera would be good because of the recall as you move the camera really fast. But don't worry, when ...

Advantages: Easy to use Disadvantages: Low battery life
I got this camera as a birthday present and it's been nothing but reliable.
It's easy to take photos, there's a delay function which also works very easily.
One problem with this camera is its inability to remember settings. Whenever I turn the camera on I am asked to input my date/time settings, which is easy to skip (Simply select exit) but still frustrating to have to do every time I turn the camera on, as you cannot take a photo before leaving ... ...wire to connect it to your computer and transfer photos. It is very simple to use. Also for your computer is some photo editing software which is easily installed via CD.
Simple menu systems allow you to alter things such as image size, quality, colour.
The camera automatically adjusts some settings depending on the scene (It recognises whether it is dark or light and adjusts accordingly) . Simply tilting the camera upwards when taking a photo ...

Advantages: Cheap, compact, external card Disadvantages: Uses batterys fast
This camera would suit someone that is after a quick point and shoot camera, its size is very good and can be kept in a jacket pocket for when ever its needed.
Sadly the only zoom is after the picture has been taken, and even then its limited, the internal memory card is only small but by adjusting the picture quality can be good, it can also have an external card, which some cameras for this price don't have so in that factor its good value for ... ...acts as a removable drive and is recognised by any computer over windows 95. If you do get this camera then it would be advisable to also get some rechargable batterys as it does go though them very quickly.
It also comes with a mini padded bag, which is a bonus. ...

Advantages: choice of colour, black and white or sepia pictures Disadvantages: no sound in video mode
My first digital camera and I've found it so easy to function. Picture quality is excellent with clear crisp images even with motion. I've taken some great photos of waves crashing on huge rocks and the froth is so clear in print. The pictures can be enlarged easily too (so long as not taken with zoom). I've had some good results too with close up shots. Funtions are quick and easy to navigate through and between different modes such as the colour ...
