...digital camera and found the Vivitar ViviCam 5388. On first glance I thought that it would not be very good, how wrong I was. This is a small lightweight camera only weighing 116g. It is easy to use and has quite a lot of features.
It has two exposure modes programme and auto. It has white balance presets for flourescent, cloudy , tungsten, light and daylight.
It takes and stores your photos as JPEG images. It has an intergrated memory of 16MB, ... ...memory card. It has built in flash and built in red eye reduction. Also it has a self timer mode.
The screen is a 2.4" colourscreen with LCD display and TFT matrix.
Additional items included with the camera are 1x USB lead, 1x DC Power input lead, 1x Composite video output. Also included is 2X AA Alkaline batteries.
Software included are drivers and utilities, MGI photosuite, and MGI photo vista.

...while, and had decided that Vivitar was going to be the brand for me. I found this one on Bid Tv at a bargain price of £45.
It is absolutly brilliant. It dors every thing I wanted it to do, as is very easy to use. It's not a point and shoot, but is easy to learn to use.
It has a digital and optical zoom, the digital zoom can be disabled. I have done so as digital zooms tend to spoil the pictures.
Lovely 2.4 inch TFT screen, which can be turned ... ...quality and is not spoilt by sun light. No view finder, but I haven't as yet had any problems.
Battery life is good. I have taken over 100 pics this weekend on just the two AA batteries needed.
A 1GB card which I bought from eBay costs about £6 and will hold hundreds of pics.
This camera will also take black and white pictures.

Main critisicm lies the screen not bright enough in bright sunlight and also poor in disco/party lighting situation and no viewfinder.
