    Advantages Advantages Lots of flexabiliy

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Customer Services very poor

    I would just like to share my experiences that I have recently had with Vodafone. At this point I will point out that my experiences in this review refer to Vodafone's Pay as you go service, not monthly contract. On the whole I have found them to be good in terms of the services that are offered and the network in general. However I have recently found myself in the need to have a major winge with regards to how easily accessible their customer services are. As stated though generally I have found them to be good in many respects. I think we are all very quick to slag off companies when they ... more

    ~~~ Vodafone History ~~~ Vodafone is the largest mobile network provider in the UK and it's headquarters is based in Newbury, Berkshire close to junction 13 of the M4, which is home to over 6000 employees. Back in 1983, a small electronics firm called Racal teamed up with an American telecoms company and together they bid (and won) one of the 2 mobile phone operators licenses which were put up for grabs by the government. Vodafone was launched 2 years later in 1985 - the name of the other company was Cellnet (later renamed BT Cellnet). In 1993 a new boy arrived on the block called One-2-One ... more
    Ive had a variety of different mobile phones over the past four years all of which have been with Vodafone.I have always been part of a contract in which each month line rental is paid but recently with the help of increased nagging my parents have allowed me to become part of the pay as you talok world. They would never let me before not through lack of trust but as I have grew older they are finally beginning to allow it. When I transfered to pay as you talk I kept the same phone and so all we did was phone the vodafone customer service line and they did something to my simcard so that it ... more
    This review originally was a review of their PAY AS YOU GO service. Since then however, I have had a complete change of heart in terms of Vodafone, with my recent problems with joining their PAY MONTHLY service. The following review is completely my own opinions, though, do remember than, and take it into consideration before you decide whether to go with them or not. OVERVIEW My current contract with Virgin Mobile was coming to an end, and due to having a poor signal in my new place of residence, I had to unfortunately end my contact with them. Upon looking online, Vodafone seemed to offer ... more
    Vodafone Pay as You Go was the first mobile service I ever used. I now use several networks, since my phone is not locked. Vodafone Pay as You Go has two tariffs: Smartstep and Allcalls. If you're on one, it costs £5 to change to the other. However, you can change free of charge within 7 days of purchasing your phone, so it doesn't matter what your phone is initially set to. THE TARIFFS Standard calls are calls to land lines or Vodafone mobiles, or calls to the voicemail service. SMARTSTEP Standard calls First 3 minutes each day 25p/min Additional calls 5p/min Calls to other networks 40p/min ... more
    I've been with Vodafone for eight years now and I consider Vodafone being one of the exeptions when it comes to service providers. Majority of service providers are absolutely appalling and we come across problems with them more or less all the time, however I would recommend Vodafone to anyone. Having had 6 phones from them, currently a Sony Ericcson, on every occassion when I have come to upgrade I have looked around at what deals are available to me, however, when I have found a good deal and I have contacted to Vodafone to either terminate or see what they have on offer, they have always ... more
    I have been with Vodafone for about 5 years now, and generally I find them to be very good. I did switch to Orange for a short period of time and I have to say that Orange were far more expensive (or seemed it anyway). I'm not sure why I chose Vodafone in the first place, probably because they were a reputable company and out of the choices I had 5 years ago, I think there was only Vodafone and Cellnet? Later on other choices became available, then I tried Orange, but went back to Vodafone. I think Vodafone has improved the service it provides on pay-as-you-go. You now have different price ... more
    I have recently changed networks from Orange to Vodafone and I think Vodafone is much better. The reception is excellent. When I had my Orange network my phone calls would consistently get cut, at times the network would be so busy it would be difficult to place a phone call. Furthermore, calling helpline was a nightmare with the increase of customers that Orange had over the last couple of years, it would take ages for us to get through and then you were not guaranteed a solution to your problem. So, when my contract was up I decided to change networks, and I have not regretted my choice. The ... more
    I have been with the Vodafone network for around 18 months now, having originally chosen this network partly because many of my friends were already on Vodafone (Vodafone to Vodafone calls being cheaper than cross-network) and because my local KJC store was offering a very good deal with free connection and also the then recently released Nokia 3210 free of charge. As I was on a special deal, my billing was originally done by a separate company – Vodafone Connect, but recently that has been changed over so I am billed directly by Vodafone. TARIFFS If you want a contract mobile phone, the ... more
    I’ve had a mobile phone for just over five years now. I bought one when I worked in a mobile phone shop – luckily I got quite a good deal! I have always had Nokia phones and I’ve always been on Vodafone (the shop sold all phones and all tariffs) I felt as I worked in a mobile phone shop I could make an informed decision, with all the information I had seen I felt I made a good choice. For the first five years I have been on contract, the first three years I was with Martin Dawes (same as Carphone Warehouse) and the last two with Phones 4U. My bills varied greatly, never being ... more
