Advantages: good fashion spreads, luxury, the life I want Disadvantages: a lot of advertising
...a the newest issue of Vogue in pristine condition just waiting for my undivided attention for at least the next hour.
Vogue is among the elite of fashion magazines, since it first went on sale in September 1916, for the princely sum of one shilling, models have aspired to be featured in it and fashion and lifestlye victims and flocked to the shops to purchase it. Unfortunatley it currently retails at more than a shilling, £3.50. This is more expensive ... ...of Jimmy Choo shoes...
Vogue is what I would consider first and foremost a fashion magazine and secondly a lifestlye magazine. In a typical issue you would expect to find:
Fashion Photoshoot Spreads:
These vary between artistic and simple, some in the form of glossy surreal photoshoots more about the art than the clothes and others as layouts usually set out by a certain style or colour depending on the trends of the month. Vogue is very much ...

...then knew so much about Vogue because having been on the website a few times I love it so the magazine had to be just as good. I have been buying it for several months now, there are great articles and a lot of information and great pictures.
I will tell you a bit about the latest Vogue copy in the shops because it's probably the easiest way to give readers an example of what is in this magazine. The magazine costs £3.20 but you can subscribe for ... ...cheaper. The magazine is always easy to spot on the shelves because the covers are always eye catching with the bold white writing. There is always a model on the front usually wearing designer clothes and some articles titles on the front.
One bad point about this magazine is that have of the pages are adverts for designers. As soon as I open up the latest issue I see Ralph Lauren, Christian Dior, Gucci, Donna Karan, adverts that is including contents ...

Advantages: It makes you appreciate Bella Disadvantages: It's dung
...a couple of copies of Vogue in the past, and would like to know, Why oh Why do women spend their hard earned money on such crap? All it is, is an oasis of boring adverts, promoting nasty perfumes, big cars and funny looking women with stupid make-up and no boobs. (not that I have boobs or anything!)
Now, Bella on the other hand, is a quality mag (?!). (O.k, it's pants too, but I can say that the stories are true) for example, my sister-in- law called ... ...a comical event for me though!)and it was published.
The moral of that story is, you never know whats sitting behind you, when you're straining, in circumstances which should otherwise be private!!
Anyway, I digress.
Vogue is a load of dung, buy Bella, cheesy, yet entertaining. mmmmmm ...

Advantages: Great to start fires with Disadvantages: expensive, low content
...again will I actually purchase Vogue magazine. It is for the rich, the supermodels and super wannabes of this world. There are very few articles, overwhelming numbers of advertisements and when there are fashion spreads, the clothes wouldn't be enough to decently dress my cat if not me! For the price, the value just is non-existent and the price of the clothes in the mag are for only-if-you-earn-£500,000-per-year shoppers. It is tasteless, and basically ...

Advantages: The holy grail of fashion magazines Disadvantages: Maybe too many advertisements
...it's a piece of history. Vogue is a sumptous glossy experience of colour, culture, sex and fashion. So maybe there are a few too many adverts, but each of these can be perceived as as worthy fashion shoots as the actual vogue ones. The adverts show gorgeous clothes on beautiful people, it's all a magical dream world that we all aspire to.
There are celebrity interviews and top cover models that wouldn't really be obtained by any other except the ... ...on high culture and fashion. I personally love SPY and also the comparisons between high street fashion and top new designers. If you want to know the latest trends, Vogue is most definitely where it's at. Advantages: A good way to find out about fashion Disadvantages: too "futile"
I enjoy reading Vogue from time to time. It's one of the glossiest and oldest fashion magazines, and this is reflected in the £3.00 price!
I like to view Vogue as the bible for fashion; Vogue editors tend to be scarily "chic" and regarded as the last word in elegance (The awesome Carine Roitfled in France is the best example).
Vogue is extremely glossy and well produced. When you leaf through it, you will mostly see advertisement after advertisement ... ...used to be on the Vogue payroll, they really do employ the best fashion photographers). One of the last Vogues I bought had a fashion shoot that took place on the orient expess train. It was fantastic; they took pictures of a beautiful model in amazing clothes as most of the stops of the train, in Mongolia, China, Russia...The photos were truly beautiful, and you can only admire the professionalism of a magazine that sends a whole team, with great ...

Advantages: None Disadvantages: Becoming BRAIN-WASHED, Wasting Money & Time
...that even the models in Vogue are tired of the same ol' portrayal of the Vogue - type women: skinny, in a face-ful of make-up, and over priced clothing. Are there any middle to over weight VOGUE women in Target clothing? No, there are NONE. All Vogue women are itty bitty cute little things. Please correct me if I am wrong. If there is an issue past June of 1997 featuring a, full figured woman as they call them, please bring it to my attention.
I ... ...of their buyers is a bit out dated. I would love to see women, in size 10 and up, on the cover or featured throughout the magazine. This magazine is probably for that brainwashed teen going through that stage in her life, where, that is the BEAUTY she wants. Not me, but I can not speak for everyone, so think before you buy. Not only are the Americans able to be brainwashed, but so are the British and the Koreans that purchase this magazine. ...

Advantages: best as what it does Disadvantages: what is does is daft
Vogue is so pretentious, so precious, so downright daft that you really want to ignore it. But just like driving past an accident, it's hard to ignore. And that is what makes this rather tedious magazine so successful. It's stuck to its formula, which many, in the 1990s would have considered rather 80s - all Rolex watches and conspicuous consumption - and kept a clear niche in the market. There are sometimes a few surprisingly good articles. Generally, ...

Advantages: Stylish and well written Disadvantages: Perhaps not a practical guide to fashion for most women
Vogue isn't bought to be followed slavishly; it's a source of inspiration for millions of stylish (and not-so-stylish) women who want to look at brilliantly executed photography, keep up with the latest advances in fashion and beauty, and read interesting, illuminating articles. Even if you just want to fantasise rather than put any fashion ideas into practice, Vogue is the perfect read. Many women's magazines, with their insistent emphasis on sex ...

...level at Southampton University and Vogue is incredibly useful in catching up with all the new designers and trends.
I received Vogue as a subscription for a birthday present but in all honesty I don’t think I’d buy it monthly, the magazine features the same type of articles every month and is definitely one of those magazines you buy every now and then to catch up on new trends and new designers.

Vogue is a magazine which appeals to a select few. the majority of its readers are middle to uper class as the majority of items are very dear. Although, it does nt mean others read it as it gives information on whats 'in' and so people with less cash are still able to spot what is trendy on the high street.
