Mmmm ...sugary

Advantages Easy to drink, nice taste, good mixer, easy to carry- portable!

Disadvantages Bit pricey, sickly, high calorie content.

"...listerine. Hmm. Anyway, apparentley WKD is reffered to as an RTD (a ready-to-drink) beverage. This means that you can just buy, drink, and be happy. No mixing or whatever. WKD drinks are basically vodka mixers- a flavouring mixed with vodka. They do WKD Blue, Irn Bru, and WKD red. You can buy them in 4 packs or 12 packs- the average bottle coming in with 275ml of alcohol-y goodness. You can also but a 700ml bottle. You can find them basically anywhere- ..." Read review

My WkdSide Review with images

AdvantagesThe taste....ooohh the taste!

DisadvantagesThe cost

"I first discovered my WKD side while out with the lads one Friday night. I noticed those little Blue and Orange bottles sitting in the fridge behind the bar - calling out to my wallet, so I had to try them. The choice I was faced with was orange or blue, orange or blue? hmmmmm I tried them both. You are one of two types of WKD person - a WKD Blue or a WKD Bru. Not both. The flavours are so distinctly different that I as yet havent met ..." Read review

Have you got a "wicked" side?

AdvantagesGreat taste, good price

DisadvantagesCan be too sickly / fizzy

"WKD Original Vodka is a brand of alcopop which is part of the RTD (ready to drink) market and is extremely popular in the United Kingdom. In 2006 it was placed number 2 in the RTD Market. The name is pronounced "wicked", however, when the drink was revamped, the logo was changed to "WKD" although many drinkers still refer to it as the original name… "wicked". WKD was born in Scotland and launched in August 1996 and is still as popular today, if not ..." Read review

It BLUE me away!

AdvantagesWell Funky Colour!

DisadvantagesCan be Sickly!

"...i spot a the Blue WKD out the corner of my eye. This is the drink all my mates are raving about, i just gotta try it. Its quite expensive at £1.49 a bottle but this doesnt put me off. I pick up a 4 pack and head straight to the checkout. So i get home kick of my shoes and plonk myself on the sofa infront of the tv and prepare to open my first bottle of WKD. As i take a sip from the bottle the first thing that comes to mind is a reminder of my childhood. ..." Read review

A Wickedly tasty drink Review with images

AdvantagesTastes nice, doesn't give nasty hangover

DisadvantagesSome may find taste too sweet

"...feeling ill. My ultimate favourite is WKD Blue. It comes in a clear glass 275ml bottle with a blue rectangle sticker and the words WKD. You can always spot it due ot he bright blue content. On the bottle it is described as a Vodka fruit based drink, 5.5 % alcoholic. There are also 2 other flavours, Vodka Iron Brew and Sliver which I have to say I have not seen so much of in clubs and have never tried. In a club or bar you can expect to pay ..." Read review

FOR THOSE WHO HATE THEIR TASTEBUDS

AdvantagesCONTAINS ALCOHOL

DisadvantagesTASTES DISGUSTING

"Blue WKD has been in stock in my local for some time. I've been looking at it, and wondering "should I give it another go?" (memories of orange WKD still linger, and I wasn't too impressed by the blue one some months ago). So, yesterday, bracing myself for the experience of letting something blue past my lips - let's face it, most blue foods are blue 'cos they've gone off and are covered in mould! - I handed over some hard-earned cash to the not- ..." Bubbly Blue Horrid Goo

AdvantagesGreat Colour

DisadvantagesToo much Fizz

"...so I bought a blue WKD (I think WKD means WicKeD). I paid an extortionate amount of £3.40 (in a posh pub). It comes as a bright turquoise coloured clear liquid in a clear glass bottle, the ABV is 5.5%, about normal % for alcopops. Out in pubs and clubs it comes in the normal sized bottles. (275ml). But I think I remember seeing bigger bottles for about £3.50 in my local off licenses. Friday night, as I mentioned I’d had a few lagers, and the ..." Read review

Has my blue gone tongue?

AdvantagesFlavour, Packaging, Price, Effect.

DisadvantagesCalories, Stain.

"...kind of childhood love, as WKD was the first drink to get me drunk... The taste: To be frank, WKD is ridiculously sweet. It is syrupy, sugary, raspberry-y, fizzy and to top it all off... blue! It does have a bit of a reputation to be sickly after awhile, however being the lightweight that i am... i haven't got to "awhile" before falling over. Also, though it is the first drink i would pick up on a night out, i certainly never manage to end with ..." Read review

Blue is the Colour

AdvantagesCan't really taste the alcohol

DisadvantagesCan't really taste the alcohol!!!!

"...label (except for the WKD logo and the word blue)incase anybody is interested... they use the "Rotary Screen" method for printing the labels. This product can be found in most publicic houses accross the UK as well as in most supermarkets and offlicences. It has an incredibly sweet taste and is also quite fruity in flavour. However, i have seen larger 70cl bottles of both the blue and iron-bru varietys on sale in our student union shop, ..." Read review

BLUE JUICE

AdvantagesTaste,taste, taste!

DisadvantagesCan be expensive in pubs/clubs

"WKD original vodka blue, but I like to call it blue juice, as it tastes like it and the colour is bright, light blue. The same blue as the blue smarties! When drinking this drink, don't expect to taste the alcohol, because you won't, but you will taste this gorgeous, quite sweet, refreshing, berry taste. I can't quite think of which berry, but it definately tastes of berries!! If I have a choice of any alchopop I always choose this, as it taste ..." Read review

Worth buying on a night out ??

AdvantagesBeautiful tasting drink. Great for mixing.

DisadvantagesLow alcohol %.

"The WKD family are known as 'alcopops' for there pop like taste and low alcohol content. There are four flavours to tickle your fancy; WKD Original Vodka Iron Brew ("WKD Orange" or "WKD original") -- Orange coloured, Irn-Bru flavour. WKD Original Vodka Blue ("WKD Blue") -- Blue coloured, bubblegum/blue mixed fruit flavour. My personal favourite. WKD Original Vodka Red ("WKD Red") -- Red coloured, cranberry flavour. WKD Core -- Cider-based drink, ..." Read review

Have YOU got a WKD side?? Prove it!

Advantagesnice taste, doesn't make your breath stink, cool colour!

Disadvantagescan be dangerous as you don't realise how many you've had!

"...available these days. When Blue WKD was released it was the only blue alcoholic drink available, (without mixing a strange brew with Blue Bols in it anyway!!) and then suddenly everybody jumped on the bandwagon. There are now numerous blue alco-pops available, and I have tried most of them. None, in my opinion are as good as WKD. They often taste either too sweet, or have a nasty after taste like diet Coke. If I am in a bar and a few Blue alco-pops ..." Read review

have you got a WKD side??

Advantagestastes good

Disadvantagesdon't last long

"...I must say that the WKD blue has a sort of a mixed up taste to me but I don't know may be its just me. Where can you get it? You can buy this from any supermarket and most shops, I bought mine for £1.22 and that was a 700ml from my local shop but im sure you can proberly buy them for less. What do you look for? Well you are looking for a glass see through bottle, with a dark blue thick stripe in the middle of the bottle with the letters ..." Read review

The two sides of WKD.

AdvantagesGreat sweet taste, nicely alcoholic

DisadvantagesThe audience this drink appeals to.

"WKD Blue worries me somewhat. There are a number of concerns I have. The first is the taste, it tastes sickly-sweet, not in bad way at all. If you can remember blue ice pops, it tastes almost exactly like them. This shouldn't be a problem, but what I find with WKD and a lot of other alcopops is that you can't taste the alcohol, at all. It just tastes like you're drinking.. well.. pop. At 5% alc. these drinks are fairly alcoholic, not too bad, but ..." Read review

Advantageseasy to drink

Disadvantagesgives you a blue tounge

"i have been drinking blue w.k.d for a few years now, and heres my oppion of it for you, hope you like it :) look - blue w.k.d is obviously blue in couluoring and in a nice shaped bottle and it is a bigger bottle than your normal ones e.g bud and pills. taste - it taste like blueberry in a way, its very easy to drink and doesnt have that sickly after taste that some alcopops have, it also doesnt leave that annoying "furry teeth" feeling you can ..."
