Advantages Advantages More tactical based wrestling, management side-game and wonderful graphics! Excellent stuff!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Very painful loading times that will make you take a lump hammer to your PSP!

WWE: SMACKDOWN VS RAW 2006 (PSP) So, what is it about wrestling, and more specifically World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), that makes it such a winning and durable formula for audiences to watch? Big sweaty men in leotards pretending to hit each other with the Clothesline from Hell is not ideal viewing for a regular twenty-something guy. Indeed, it is as far removed from bikini-clad Valkyries stripping each others clothes off in a mud-wrestling contest as I'd care to think. Yet there is something to the ridiculously absurd storylines, pre-match melodrama and the characters involved that ... more

nter Milan boss Jose Mourinho recently admitted that he plans to return to the English Premier League, leading The Mirror to sensationally link the Portuguese gaffer with an eventual move to Manchester United. The Old Trafford club moved quickly to play down the reports, but now the link has been strengthened. For starters, a high ranking Stamford Bridge official has revealed that 'The Special One' has always fancied being the Red Devils' ringmaster. Asked about the rumours by the News of the World, the official revealed: "Jose always made his love of United very clear. In fact, he was ... more

Advantages Advantages Very good graphics. Smooth gameplay. Hours of entertainment

    Disadvantages Disadvantages LONG loading times

The WWE Smackdown series has been running for several successful years now on the PS2. I had not played the similar titled game on the PS2 before playing this handheld version, so I was playing it with a very open mind. This is a really good game that encorporates the smoothness of the games of the past, and also the simplicity in gameplay. For a game that includes so many features, that I will come on to, it is incredible how easy it is to pick up and learn the controls. All the big stars of the TV shows are included, such as Triple H, John Cena, Batista and Randy Orton. The roster is as up ... more

Advantages Advantages Nice Graphics, A Variety of Unlockables, New Modes

Disadvantages Disadvantages Say Hello To The Loading Times of All Time For The PSP

Smackdown Vs Raw 2006 has already been released on the PS2 and was an exceptional game, wrestling fans from everywhere enjoyed the game, all the wrestlers signature moves, arenas and unlockable characters. This game is similiar to its twin, and plays it well, especially for a PSP game. Packing everything onto a 1.8GB UMD is probably qite hard. There are a number of modes such as Exhibition, where you can play al lthe favourate matches such as Royal Rumble, Hell in a Cell, and all the others. There's also the fantasy matches which you can have, which constists of you choosing a WWE Diva facing ... more

Advantages Advantages A very good basis for a hand-held wrestling game.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Long loading times.

Wrestling games have always been popular on games consoles due to their replayability and multiplayer support. So in making the jump to hand-held, THQ have attempted to include most of what have made these games so successful. In the main, this has been successful. The graphics are excellent by PSP standards and the games physics are not as sketchy as previous hand-held wrestlers on the GBA for example. The game itself is literally as good as the PS2 version. But there is of course a downside. In making the game portable, loading times have been lengthened to an annoyingly long time. The ... more
