Smackdown 3 Preview
Review of WWF Smackdown! (PlayStation) by Sheet

Advantages: Improved From SD2.
Disadvantages: Not Much Changed.

This preview was written by me for www.gameaday.co.uk With the unparallel success of Smackdown 1 and 2, THQ decided to release a third game in this very successful series and appropriately and prudently named it "Smackdown 3:Just Bring It". A little difference though, it is on the PlayStation 2, instead of the PS1. Not much has changed in gameplay terms from videos and pictures displayed on numerous sites. The speed is the same, as fast as ever. ... Read review

Overrated to say the least
Review of WWF Smackdown! (PlayStation) by Jackal123

Advantages: none at all
Disadvantages: too easy, becomes a bore

At the time when WWF Smackdown was set to be released I was quite excited and looking forward to it. Having loved WWF Attitude, I was rather hoping a superb game was to be released. I bought the game at the recommendation of a few friends and at the recomendations of some writers who had reviewed it in magazine articles. It had been spoken of as a superb game which was extremely entertaining to play. This made me decide to buy the game. Having ... Read review

Definitely not have bought this
Review of WWF Smackdown! (PlayStation) by tsuyoshi

Advantages: The speed, the WWF license
Disadvantages: Dull music, tiresome season mode

Having played and enjoyed WWF Attitude, I was expecting WWF Smackdown! to be enjoyable and good value for money. Although it has sold a lot, I find it well and truly over-hyped. Thanks to its WWF licence, the game has sold well. The presentation of this game is horrible: after all it is wrestling and it should feel more ‘hardcore’. Instead, we are presented with menu's that feel as though they were designed for an older generation of ... Read review

raw is jerichoooo
Review of WWF Smackdown! (PlayStation) by paulmcdaid

Advantages: top detail, graphics, and realism
Disadvantages: not all wrestlers and matches can be played

...just now even for non wwf fans, the action is quite brilliant. This game stands out among the wwf playstation range as it is the most realistic game to be brought out. three way dances, royal rumbles etc... The graphics are also superb the attention to detail is amazing you can even see the rock doing the peoples eyebrow. All i can say is bring on the next wwf smackdown. Where hopefully the new wrestlers and even table matches will hopefully be added ... Read review

Just bring it.
Review of WWF Smackdown! (PlayStation) by colin16

Advantages: Lots of variety of rings, wrestlers and match styles.
Disadvantages: Lots of loading.

...out there who loves the WWF wrewstling this game is a must have. It has loads of different types of matches you can play, loads of different wrestlers to choose from, and by the use of a 4-way multi-tap you can have up to 4 players playing at any one time. The game has so mush for you to do in it, you can fight a Royal rumble, be a referee whilst your friends fight, start a career, make your own players etc. You get to watch all the entrance movies ... BRING IT ON
Review of WWF Smackdown! (PlayStation) by cascade

Advantages: Many charchters, moves and types of matches
Disadvantages: Some Charchters much stronger than others

Im not usually a fan of beat um up's, but in this case Ive made an exception. This game is so addictive, I just cant stop playing! The range of charachters and moves is amazing including The Rock, Stone Cold, Big Boss Man, The Hardy Boyz, Paul Bearer, Undertaker and Kane plus many many more. The fighters moves ring true to life, including the SMackdown moves such as the Rocks "Peoples Elbow" and Shaun Michales "Sweet Chin Music". If the option to ... Read review

Well done on a brilliant game
Review of WWF Smackdown! (PlayStation) by robjlawler

Advantages: Good graphics and great gameplay
Disadvantages: now become outdated with the release of a sequel

After having played many of the other wrestling games previously released such as Warzone, it makes a change to see a decent grappler game on the psx, this game has all the best wrestlers at the time of release (although it may seem a bit dated now, but with know your role out, this has been out right again), and all the main types of event. The season mode is good enough to make any single player gamer happy, but this game comes into its own when ... Read review

ups and downs of the game
Review of WWF Smackdown! (PlayStation) by luke_2001

Advantages:
Disadvantages:

wwf smakdown is probrably one of the best playstation games I have bought because: It has the best wrestling graphics yet, It has a huge range of moves compared to all the other wwf games that I have bought, you can create wrestlers to look EXACTLY like the ones proper wrestlers on the game, 10 different game modes to choose from(many are new), the Pay-Per views are excellent(you can even create your own with a top 10 matches and top 10 ppv's table, ... Best wrestling game on the market
Review of WWF Smackdown! (PlayStation) by PHILIPALLEN

Advantages: You won't be able to put it down
Disadvantages: Does not include 'hell in the cell' matches

WWF Smackdown is one of the best wrestling games on the market and why because of the stunning graphics and excellent sound effects. It is a big improvment of past wrestling games. One reason why this game is tops is because you don't just have to fight in the ring like past wrestling games you get of the ring and fight in backstage areas such places like the kitchen, boiler room and the car park where you can also use all sorts of weapons to hit your ... Smackdown!! the wrestling game that other games bow down to!!!
Review of WWF Smackdown! (PlayStation) by Dave_reaper_666

Advantages: You can learn self defensive moves or moves to annoy your brother with
Disadvantages: You throw a mental when your brother gets on the game because it is so addictive

WWF Smackdown is undoubtedly the best wrestling game brought out on the playstation. Other people who own this game will definately agree, If you own a playstation and are a WWF fan then this this is the one for you. Do not even attempt to buy WCW Mayhem,WWF Atitude, WCW Thunder,WWF Warzone,WCW in your house or WCW Nitro. Warning they not be to high standards compared to smackdown. One great option avaliable is being able to create your own super ... Read review

Gimme a hell yeah!
Review of WWF Smackdown! (PlayStation) by OwenP

Advantages: Great gameplay/graphics and new cool options
Disadvantages: Outdated already with old wrestlers because it changes so fast

WWF Smackdown is probably, at the moment, my favourite game. Not only is it better than its predecessor WWF Attitude but it indefinitley 'Layeth The Smacketh Down' on it! The thing that I have found frustrating with the other wrestling games on consoles is the fact that the controls are too difficult. Before nobody knew how to pin the opponent or how to do their special moves, but with 'WWF Smackdown, it is surprisingly easy. It bring more fun into ... Read review

Laying the smackdown
Review of WWF Smackdown! (PlayStation) by jambo5000

Advantages: It doesn't replicate the smells
Disadvantages: Men in tights

WWF Smackdown is different, not least because of something called the Special Guest Referee feature. With this you never know which familiar face from the halls of the World Wrestling Federation is going to be your judge and juror next. It can turn friends into bitter enemies, and induce groans when a fighter that's recently been double crossed ends up taking the referee post for a later, crucial match. But of course, no matter what the whims of the ... Read review

Boom!
Review of WWF Smackdown! (PlayStation) by sasr007

Advantages: 36 characters!
Disadvantages: The crowd noises are a bit tinny

While WWF Attitude has reigned in the past, Smackdown takes the whole thing a stage further with more of everything - ad all done much better. There are 36 WWF stars who can compete and there are several champonships which have been incorporated into the game. This game is even more bizarre than WWF itself. You can fight in the kitchen, boiler room, stage and more. What next? The actual ring! This is the kind of game that you could play with ... Read review

Also very poor
Review of WWF Smackdown! (PlayStation) by paul170184

Advantages: Little improvements here and there
Disadvantages: Pretty much the whole game

This is another in a huge and oftently poor wrestling seris. This is the latest game after the quite poor WCW Mayhem.Which was the first game to feauture backstage fighting. This is the second game to have and they do it much better.Insted of having one in every match in WCW Mayhem this has 4 all linked up together Corridor,Carpark,Kitching and the boiler room. This one is much better than mayhem and this some classy options like the unforgiving "I quit" ...
