Advantages: Smooth, pretty, responsive, amazingness on a stick. Disadvantages: No real ones
It is currently 3:45 am on a Saturday evening. I am working tomorrow and will most likely be rather tired when I do so because I don’t see myself going to bed any time soon. At least ‘til I get a day where I have no plans and use it to sleep all day, which will hopefully reset my body ... ...figured I’d get myself a little something to keep me entertained. Figuring I can’t afford (and don’t really like the idea of) a rent boy, I would indulge myself in a funky little tool I’ve been wanting since I knew they existed. A graphics tablet! You can use this to control your pointer so it ...

Advantages: Much more comfy than a mouse and with right software/OS has good range of functions Disadvantages: Appears to be very software and OS specific, erratic operation of some useful functions
...are a few manufacturers but Wacom appear to be highly regarded when it comes to these pen and tablet gizmos, especially amongst those who use them professionally (designers, photographers, layout, etc). My intended purchase was motivated with a few purposes: -
#one - I wish to play around with a few photos to create different effects
#two - I wish to use my media software (Micrografx Picture Publisher) to do some 'painting' and 'drawing' where ... ...My research pointed to the Wacom Bamboo Fun Small Black. I paid £52 inc delivery from warehouseexpress.com and it was promptly delivered.
In the classy black box was the tablet and pen, the pen holder, the power cable, three CD discs and 13 page 'Quick Start Guide' booklet. This booklet is about the dimensions of a CD and half of the pages have one or two lines (such as "Close all applications and disable antivirus.") in English with the same instruction ...

The Ethos of wacom is replacing the limitation of the mouse with the freedom of the pen. Wa in japanese means harmony, and this is what they are trying to achieve. Using a pen is a natural feeling, and it seems only obvious that this should be encorporated into the digital age. Try writing your name with a mouse, or your signature, its impossible, but with the Bamboo you can personalise any email, or work document, with your own signature. ... ...real time, making your presentation much more interesting. The tablet has no batteries so is eco-friendly, and is very small, but a sturdy well built feel. The pen has two buttons which you can customise, and uses a magenetic force to communicate with the tablet, so you can rest on it without it selecting anything in the screen. There are 4 buttons and 1 wheel button whch again can all be customised via control panel. Which ever size bamboo you get, ...

Advantages: Wireless+Batteryless pen, Better control on the cursor Disadvantages: No wireless mouse with the package.
Very useful, not only for drawing but also as a replacement to mouse. Left click is replaced with a touch of pen, two buttons on the thumb side of pen are for right click and drag, you can change these functionality to your own choice as well. Extra buttons on the tablet can be assigned a quick function you like it to do. Works fine on virtual machine as I use it in Parrallels for Mac that helps in to use it with XP or other software. Best thing ...
