Advantages: 512 levels of pressure sensitivity, paper-like feel, 4 function buttons, zoom-wheel, eraser pen-tip Disadvantages: You may have to polish the shiny function buttons to keep them shiny
...the perfect consumer-level option. Whilst Wacom certainly do make tablets that are far, far better than this (the Cintiq, and Intuos, for instance), the upgrades on these will be useful only for high-end professionals. This does not mean that the Bamboo is only for the amateur doodler, however - it just means that unless you're a professional architect, Bamboo is the option for you. The Bamboo is the latest generation of consumer-level Wacom tablets, ... ...Bamboo is a very sleek, very stylish, thin black slab that can sit beside your keyboard or mousemat. It connects via USB to your computer and on most systems will start working straightaway; if not it also comes with an installation CD. Using this CD is advisable, because even if the Bamboo works straight off, the CD will install even more functionality. In Windows Vista, installing the Bamboo unlocks the Tablet PC functions of Vista, allowing you ...

Advantages: easy to use, accurate Disadvantages: pen feels a bit cheap, distracting blue LED
...will have heard the name Wacom -- they're _the_ manufacturer of input devices for professionals, and their budget range gives a good slice of the magic without such a big slice of the money pie! If you're not familiar with graphics tablets, the concept is fairly simple -- drawing or photo-editing with a mouse is a thankless and painful experience; no matter how accomplished you are with the beast, it's never going to feel as intuitive as good ol' ... ...this is the first low-end Wacom to come with a double-ended pen: if your software supports it (and most does), flipping the pen over turns the end into an "eraser" which does exactly what anyone who's ever used a pencil would expect. In addition to the eraser, the pen sports 256 levels of pressure sensitivity, two programmable buttons on the side (by default one acts as a right click), and comes with a spare point. The tablet also features a number ...

Advantages: Battery free pen, easy to use, highly configurable, durable, great look! Disadvantages: JustWrite Office note Vista compatible - the only bad thing I can say which isn't a lot
...later I heard about the Wacom Bamboo online and thought I'd take a look at it. Since then I've gone out and bought one as I was so impressed by how it sounded but I was also worried that my expectations were being built up as with the Nisis before. I couldn't have been more wrong.
Where do I start? Then 'pen' itself is very comfortable to use, one solid piece with no batteries required but enough weight so as not to feel cheap. It's coated in what ... ...that feels smooth to the touch and is much better than a plastic version would be. As has been mentioned it has 512 levels of pressure sensitivity meaning you can make very thin, light strokes or thick, hard strokes - that's assuming your software has the ability to support it of course. The pen also has an 'eraser' on the top which is basically a rounded and smooth piece of plastic. In supported programs you flip the pen over and rub out what ever ...

Advantages: Best on the low level market, great design, great drivers ad features. Disadvantages: not the cheapest graphics tablet, averagely sized active zone.
...cheaper choices because i know wacom is a company i can trust, them being the world leader in graphics tablets. The product works well, although im not very good at using it its features and usage works well not only for drawing but as a complete substitute for a mouse. it will stop RSI and has reduced the pain i got from what i thought was carpal tunnel syndrome, It works very well with windows xp and its drivers integrate with minimal CPU usage. ... ...and in comparison to my wacom the difference is startling. the trust pads pen would eat through AAA batteries like nothing iv ever seen, the pen was bulky and it was in that horrible old computer color, the wacom is well designed, quite ironic considering its used for design. and all of its features work very well. its gloss and matte finish work great together and it is both technically and fashionably sound its pen is also battery free and nibs ...
