I started a Computer Science degree in Cardiff, and lasted almost one year. The basic problem I, and a lot of other people doing the course had, was that none of the staff there cared much about the students. Most of the lectures consisted of the lecturer giving us a page number in the course text. I am currently in my third year at Cardiff University, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anybody. I am studying for an LLB in law and french, and since joining Cardiff university in 1998 I have not looked back. The only apparent disadvantage is that many halls of residence are a long walk from the university and the town. Cardiff Uni has a good reputation, and with good cause. The standards of research and teaching are high. It's a good university. That is, until you have a problem. After three years of studying, I graduated from Cardiff University with a degree in Journalism, Film and Broadcasting last Summer. Well if the interview is representative of what this place is like, I'd say just don't go there. I was attending an interview day for their postgrad journalism course.
