Advantages Advantages delicious, special, strong aroma

Disadvantages Disadvantages Dont taste like fish and chips!

?Oh I do like to be beside the seaside... Oh I do like to be beside the sea...? Potatoes are good for us, right? So that must mean crisps are too, since they're made from potatoes! Okay, I know, it doesn't count! Crisps are especially bad for us if we eat too many of them, so I tend to only have a packet on a rare occasion. When I do buy them I like to make sure I am getting a good brand. That's why I usually go for Walkers! Walkers is a British snack food maker, set up after the Second World War by Henry Walker. He had initially bought a meat factory but its profits were declining so he ... more

A Legendary Flavour. Walkers Crisps are polling the Great British people to try and find the next flavour of crisps. A few months back they asked for people to submit flavour combinations to them in hopes of it becoming the next Walkers flavour. They have now shortlisted six flavours which they have produced but only one will survive and it’s up to us to decide which one it is. The six flavours that they have brought out for a limited time are: Fish and Chips Builder’s Breakfast Cajun Squirrel Chilli and Chocolate Crispy Duck and Hoisin Onion Bhaji Once you have tried the flavours and have a ... more

Advantages Advantages Great if you like to try new flavours

Disadvantages Disadvantages Bad if you hate fish!!

My mum told me about these new flavoured crisps, and I had to give them a try. They sounded really unusual but love trying new things, so thought I would buy some of these and taste them myself. ***ABOUT THE CRISPS*** People from around the country have had their say, about which flavoured crisps they would like. Walkers have decided to put some of these flavours to the test and then you can get voting to decide which one you want to become a permanent flavour on the shelves! The flavours to choose from are Chilli & Chocolate, Cajun Squirrel, Builders Breakfast, Crispy Duck and Hoisin, Fish & ... more

Advantages Advantages I'm no longer the only one that hasn't tried them

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Quite vinegary

The idea behind these crazy flavoured crisps - These Fish and Chips flavoured crisps are 1 of 6 new flavours as part of Walkers "Do us a flavour" campaign. The idea of this campaign is to introduce these 6 new flavours as previously suggested by the great British public, we then try them all, and vote for our favourite flavour either online at www.walkers.co.uk, or you can text in your vote free of charge to 51199. The voting closes on 1st May 2009. I have read a few reviews of these various flavoured crisps and wasn't sure if I should try them, as most of the reviews have said how ... more

    Advantages Advantages Tastes nice

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not the best flavoured crisp, unhealthy, potentially gone soon

After trying the Builders' Breakfast flavoured crisps from Walkers, which was one of their six competition flavours, and enjoying them, I was excited to try others from the range to see if they were as nice. Having heard bad things about the Chilli and Chocolate flavour, and average things about Onion Bahji and Cajun Squirrel, I decided to give the Fish and Chips and the Crispy Duck and Hoisin flavours a go. I tried Fish and Chips first, as I was interested to see if this crisp flavour tasted anything like the real thing. The taste of these crisps was very interesting, and not at all bad. The ... more

    Advantages Advantages Crisp and fresh

Disadvantages Disadvantages Smell of fish, taste awful

Walkers a very well known brand of crisps, sp when I saw the new flavours including hoisin duck, Cajun squirrel and others, including fish and chips, I decided to be brave. (Not that brave, I wasn't going to sample Cajun squirrel.) I expected the flavour to be rather like those little fish and chip shaped biscuits you used to get. They had a kind of salt and vinegary taste and the only fishy thing about them was their shape. When I first opened the bag of Walkers Fish and Chip crisps, I really could have gagged. The smell of fish literally hit me and put me right off. I am not a lover of fish ... more

I have had two bad experinces of these new walkers crisps yet still I pressed on determined to find a flavour I could enjoy, and so fish and chips was my next one...after all what could be bad about these! Well from the packaging nothing was bad, they are a mainly white packet but with a strip of orange going along the top and bottom of the packet, I feel this made it look like the perfect packet to have this flavour of crisps in. Again like the other packets there is a sqaure in the middle which contains a picture of the flavour. The smell was slightly dissapointing as it reminded me of when ... more

    Advantages Advantages None

Disadvantages Disadvantages The taste, the smell!!

Walkers are shooting themselves in the foot in one of the worst advertising ploys ever, I've so far tried the Hoi Sin and Duck (ok), builders breakfast (just about edible) and Chilli and chocolate (amongst the worst thing I've ever tasted) now I've tried the fish and chips and well they are nicer than the chilli and chocolate but the smell is really unpleasant. With most varieties of crisps you open the pack and a lovely waft of crisp flavour hits your nose and entices you to eat the crisps but these crisps had a horrid sweaty oily chip shop smell with a hint of mushy peas. Well I thought ... more

    Advantages Advantages Classic British Flavour

Disadvantages Disadvantages Taste like a fishmongers to me!

Walkers Fish and Chip Flavour crisps are part of Walkers new promotion 'do us a flavour, pick us a winner.' They asked the British public to submit ideas for new crisp flavours no matter how weird and wacky they were. Unfortunately my idea for Plum Onion Chutney never got through *sob sob.* Anyway I am currently chomping my way through the six flavours to see which one is the best and reviwing them on here. The latest flavour I have tried is Fish and Chips. Now I guess I could see this coming really. If it wasn't suggested then Walkers would be sure to do a limited flavour I reckon bcause Fish ... more
