...had launched. According to the Walkers website, Quavers is their best selling snack that the company has to offer, and has been a firm favourite for over 30 years. Now judging from the many products that Walkers has produced over the time they have been in production, this is quite some feat for these little cheesy 'waves'. After all, the company, that is said to have had it's humble beginnings in 1948 has quite a collection of well known and tasty ... ...~ HISTORY ~...
The Walkers company was founded by a real Mr Walker - A Mr Henry Walker to be exact. Originally Henry was a pork butcher in the 1880's, but moved from Mansfield to Leicester to take control of a high street business. This ran fairly smoothly until the second world war raged, rationing meat. His number of shops continually sold out early in the day and he needed to do something to deal with this mass shortage. So he soon came upon ...

Dietary information
Well these will not help you live longer, make you more attractive or stop you snoring (darn) but they are the lowest calorie snack of this type I’ve come across so far at 84 calories a packet. They contain 3% protein, 61% carbohydrate, 4.7% of which sugars and 29% fat of which 13% saturates fat, which isn’t as bad as some.

Advantages: Good for dieting Disadvantages: too cheezy
...As with all of Walkers crisps these days it comes in a foil bag to lock in all of that lovely freshness so that the crisp has that “just made” taste.
Depending on the flavour that you buy will depend on the colouring of the packaging, for all intent purposes this opinion shall deal with the yellow packaging for the plain cheese flavour. Others flavours include salt and vinegar& prawn cocktail which are green and a salmon pink respectively.
... ...the top left hand corner with the word Quavers written in green and bubbles around it, not very exciting but over the years the packaging for Quavers have not changed and is a recognised packet.
On the back you have the details of fat carbohydrates etc (for all of you dieters), this packet is out of a multi-pack and contains 82kcal per pack and 4.8g of fat which is nothing compared to other crisps nearer the 200kcal mark. Now I have made the distinction ...

...known to the world as Walkers Quavers.
Right, now that I have got the apology out of the way I can get on with it.
Walkers Quavers are a member of the crisp family. They are to be found alongside breeds such as Smiths Chipsticks and KP Hula Hoops on the average supermarket shelf. Quavers are, however, a rather rare breed. Rather than chipped potato or cereal snacks they are made from well, sort of “puffed” potato! This leads to a light ... ...very un-crisp-like behaviour.
Averaging about an inch in length, these little beggers are somewhat curly (in a woodlouse as opposed to a spring kind of a way!) and light yellow in colour. They have an almost polystyrene-like consistency and you could be forgiven for mistaking them for the yellow packing chips that protect goods in the post!
They are most commonly found in a rather satisfying cheese flavour, although sightings of salt’n’vinegar, ...

Advantages: Light tasty quick snack Disadvantages: Small packs and broken contents
...Amongst the most popular are Walkers Quavers cheese flavour. They seem to have been going for years and years but I don’t think they have changed at all and obviously still appeal to the younger generation judging by the speed a multi-pack disappears.
I buy a multi-pack of 6 for £0.99 – 16 pence for a bag of crisps can’t be bad. You can also purchase multi-packs of 10 or buy single ones. The multi-packs and the single bags look just about the same ... ...also in green. The Walkers logo is in red in the top left-hand corner. Each pack is around 4 inches by 6 inches, so a little smaller than a ‘normal’ pack of crisps. The bags are made from the new style foil but they are not puffed up to protect the contents so it is possible to sit on them and ruin part of your lunch (that is lunch you eat, no pun about lunch boxes intended!). Each pack only weighs around 20 grams (so my scales tell me – the weight ...

...way through a bag of Walkers Quavers in cheese flavour whilst reading and rating a few opinions.
I realised that, although I love the taste of these wonderful, crunchy, crispy things, I have never written an opinion about them. I must make amends at once for this oversight!
To begin at the beginning Walkers, the crisp people, make Quavers and the cheese flavour ones come in a distinctive bright yellow foil packet, keeping the Quavers nice and fresh.
... ...French Fries at 3.7g and Walkers Lites at 5.3g but a LOT lower than you find in a standard bag of crisps, which contain 34g of fat!
Sadly Quavers contain animal rennet, which means that they are not suitable for the vegetarians amongst you, which is a shame because you’re missing out on a super taste! An individual packet of Quavers will set you back something in the region of 40p, but if you buy the multi packs, obviously you get economies of scale ...

...million people will eat a Walkers product every day. Glancing at the website (www.walkers.co.uk) the sight of a 1980's packet of Salt and Vinegar has me brimming over with nostalgia. Ahhhh. Play time.
Now let's get to the crunch of the matter... bad jokes aside . I love Quavers. Yes indeedy I do.

The rather garish yellow foil bag is usually spotted it's natural habitat of a buggy, being sucked by some grubby faced child while the harrassed mother is attempting to do twenty things at once while shopping at Tesco's and the like.
Nobody else noticed that? Ok *whistles and quickly moves on*. This light air filled polystyrene ...

...their packet, and that’s how Walkers aim to sell them. So, are the ‘light potato snacks’ worth trying, or are they too ‘light’ and just plain old boring? Well, I’d have to say no! Not being a big crisps fan myself, Quavers are absolutely perfect for me. Rather than having the annoying bits stuck in your teeth later on, Quavers are cheesy, refreshing, and go down in one (watch it!), and is the perfect snack for ... ...though, the taste of a Walkers Cheese and Onion, because it has a slight rich taste about it, and the cheese is that bit less heavy tasting, and it blends well with the rest of the “potato snack”. That’s the thing with Quavers, as I’ve already mentioned, they’re much thicker, and much more like actual potatoes, rather than sickening like real crisps. How could I do that with just one? Easy - after having one I went and got a bag for myself. The thing is, after hardly eating anything for a week my appetite is back big time and that means craving crisps and chocolate.
Cheesy quavers have been on the go for a long time but I have to admit that I don't eat them very often. The reason for this is that they basically have a zero filling factor ... ...they are good for weight conscious people since they only contain 4.8g of fat and provide 84 calories per bag (although the size of the bag is not shown they must be roughly about 15g). Walkers have to be the top producer of crisps. There are so many varieties to choose from and so many flavours to sample as well. Not only crisps either, there is a big choice of corn type snacks to fill you up.
