Advantages: Bread that tastes like bread Disadvantages: No major ones at all
Only this afternoon I passed a comment to a friend concerning Warburton's bread, I love their bread products full stop but the Other Half much prefers his bread hot from the bread maker. As the saying goes - you can't please everyone! I spent an hour with my niece and her toddler this afternoon and we were trying, note the use of the word trying, to place an on-line order for Tesco. In between removing sticky little fingers away from the keyboard ... ...work of art! Sometimes on Hot Deals UK they offer voucher codes for online shopping, spend £50 and get free delivery, in the past we have been lucky and found some even better value discount codes than that. Usually if you have to spend a significant amount to take advantage of the deal on offer I will add a couple of things to my nieces order so that she can use that voucher code. I soon noticed that Warburton's had their large Farmhouse loaves ...

==*WARBURTON'S FARMHOUSE SOFT WHITE LOAF*==
I'm in danger of sounding like my poor old mum now, but hasn't bread gone flippin' dear !!!! I've tried so called 'value' bread but it always ends up getting given to the ducks, it feels stale when I first buy it, so that is false economy. As we get through more than one loaf a day ( more if the hungry ducks have their way!!) I do try to find as reasonable priced bread as I can. While shopping in my local ... ...White thick sliced loaves for £1 a loaf. Which with today's prices is pretty good!! I bought two loaves, The loaves have just been kept in my bread bin and were bought on Saturday. I have just used the last two slices and they were still very fresh ( it is now Tuesday morning and my kitchen has been mighty hot over the last three days!!) The loaf was bought on 30th May, had a sell by date of 2nd June and a use by date of 4th June. The loaf is a 800g ...

Advantages: Really soft and yummy Disadvantages: A little pricey
...just bought a loaf of Warburtons medium sliced white bread from my local village shop (£0.89p, but cheaper from supermarkets, £0.81 from the Co-Op) and used 4 slices to make my salad sandwiches for lunch. The bread was so fresh that it has prompted me to write an op about it because it was so yummy.
The Warburtons family have been bakers since 1876 and I think they have made the perfect loaf. Warburtons ordinary white bread comes in 3 varieties: ... ...is primarily about.
The Warburtons medium sliced white loaf is packaged in a blue and white waxed paper wrapper. To open you gently separate the folded end which has been ‘glued’ with the wax. The aroma of freshly baked bread meets you as you delve in. Now if you are like me then the crusts are ignored until the end of the loaf, and are then used for toasting - marvellous! However, the crusts are always very soft and can be used for sandwiches just ...

Advantages: Yummy toast - easy to freeze Disadvantages: expensive (approx 80p)- not many slices in the loaf
...into my kitchen is the WARBURTONS SUPER TOASTIE.
As the name suggests, it is designed for toast. Really nice, thick slices (with one slight technical problem – they don’t fit in all toasters). Good stodgy consistency too, so when you butter the toast it doesn’t disintegrate into the usual crispy bit and a gooey bit.
I suppose this should be regarded as quite a niche-market bread. It’s not that good for sandwiches - the bread ... ...a couple of loaves of Warburtons in the bread bin wouldn’t be very economic. Instead I tend to keep a couple of loaves permanently in the freezer. The slices don’t stick together so you can just take what you need straight from the freezer, it toasts well from frozen and it defrosts in the microwave in 30 seconds (without going crispy – I think that must be something to do with the high moisture content).
On the downside there ...

Advantages: Substantial slices. Disadvantages: Cost a lot of dough.
The Warburtons white loaf, described as a farmhouse soft white sliced bread, is the favourite of all the tried and tested breads that I have bought.
DESCRIPTION OF PACKAGE.
The 800g thick sliced loaf is encased in a clear cellophane bag with the word Warburtons written in white across a red diamond. The words Family bakers since 1876 are written again in white across a blue ribbon edged in gold.
INFORMATION.
On the base of the loaf you will find ... ...blue and a little note from Mr. Jonathan Warburton himself saying, "Help us celebrate our love of bread by having a family picnic for National Bread Week 2008 ! You can find picnic hints and tips at www.welovebread.co.uk" ( Now either Mr. Warburton lives in California or he has been so busy making bread, that he hasn't noticed the darn weather outside ! ) Give it a month or two Mr. Warburton and we might consider it.

Advantages: makes great toast Disadvantages: price
...the normal scheme of things, Warburtons are one of the msot expensive pre-sliced loaves you can buy in a supermarket. I'll start by confessing I only tried it because Sainsburys had a glut and had 'reduced to clear'.
Like all loaves, you get a range of thicknesses. I like to buy my bread really thick so that you can spread stuff on it without it going through. The really thick Warburtons is actually of a decent thickness, unlike some brands.
Toast ... ...of time under the grill. It tastes great toasted, and make slovely dry crunchy toast that you can persuade to stay just slightly soft in the kiddle - perfect (ok, you have to be nifty with a grill as well but it can be done.)
Raw toast - yes, it makes decent sarnies as well. A pleasant flavour (not a patch on home made, but good enough for every day use.)it doesn't fall apart when you try to spread, it has a reasonable texture and is entirely functional.

...gained, I do maintain that Warburtons White Loaves are products which should disprove this theory once and for all and here's why..
Warburtons have been family bakers since 1876 when they started their business in a small shop in Bolton. All of the Warburtons products are quite distinctive in this area as they are largely white on their fascias as if the name stands for itself and so the products should sell themselves. The Warburtons logo, which is the name written on a red diamond shape is then printed over the top of this. The individual products are then colour coded so it is easy to tell them apart; the super toasties comes in a green wrapper, the toastie in a ...

...I have to say that Warburtons Toastie and Super Toastie white breads are really nice! If you like a nice moist loaf, that stays that way for ages then this is the bread for you.
Packaging

...you what kind of company Warburtons really is, going back to 1997 and living in Cleethorpes. I purchased some of the above bread when I opened it I noticed the special paper was ripped a little. ...better than this. Warburtons is nice, but in my book too overpriced for what is, in effect a bit of wheat. The crust tends to go stale quicker than the normal bread, too.

Advantages: Nice soft fluffly bread, varying thicknesses Disadvantages: Dosen't fit in the toaster properly, expensive.
Warburtons is the nicest bread you can buy, ok so it is more expensive than other plain white bread, but in my opinion worth it!
It is available in different thicknesses, medium (approx 1cm thick), toastie (approx 11/2cm thick) and super toastie (approx 2cm thick)!

...the point, I usually buy Warburtons white, medium sliced loaf. It remains fresh for at least a week after I have bought it, it certainly will have no mold on by this time and it would be nice to eat. Advantages: Great for toasting, keeps fresh for a few days Disadvantages: The E numbers, possibly. Price
Warburtons is my local bakery – in Bolton, Warburtons have been “Family bakers since 1876” it says on the packaging. Well, it’s a big factory of course now, but there are some wonderful smells emanating from the building early each morning. At 800g, it’s a standard large loaf size. The packaging is clear plastic, not the foil wrapping, which I do think helps in keeping loaves fresher for longer.
