Warcraft is the hugely successful fantasy strategy game where you constuct and rule your own mediaevil stronghold. Play as either human or evil orcs though two dozen campaign scenarios within two seperate storylines.
Command many unigue creatures, including demons, elementals, nercromancers, archers and spearmen as you attempt to conqear your enemies armies, playing agianist the computer or a friend viaa network or the internet!

Warcraft is a really good strategy game. You can be Orcs or Humans and battle it out with things like sorcerers,
priests, spearmen, archers and Grunts. You start off with a few resources some wood and some gold. You will need
to make a few villagers to buil more buildings and gather more resources.
You get wood from trees(obviously) and gold from gold mines. These are dotted randomely around the map. You will need the resources to build buildings ... ...buildings you can upgrade the attack or defence of a type of fighter. These cost more gold. Once you can attack the enemy before they attack you. The graphics are moderately good but could do with a bit more detail. The sound effects are extremely bad though;
they are unreallistic and very annoying. You can go on campaigns which get harder as you complete more. Within the campaigns you have to do certain missions for the Orcs or Humans. The Orcs ...

Advantages: Nostalgia value Disadvantages: Compatibility problems with new PCs
The first game in the Warcraft series, now comprising three strategy games, two expansion packs and an RPG, not counting WoW. Like the first part of all great series, this game had something new when it was first released.
Character.
Blizzard games may not be the most technically accomplished, nor the most popular, but when you play them you realise the care and attention that has been lavished upon them. The two races, Orcs and Humans, are for ... ...Since the humans have the better spells, this unbalances the game a bit. However, since things take place at a far slower rate than in the later games, the player has plenty of time to react.
Graphics wise, the game is on a par with Dune 2. Nothing special. Thankfully, unlike so many old games, it can still run under windows XP, though sound and networking support is broken. Another bane of old games, uber-fast scrolling, is also present.

Warcraft the original is still one of my all time faverite games even with version 3 comming out soon nothing beats the original.
I was about 16 when i first played and a novice on the pc, after a few day of none stop gaming my skills with the mouse and key placement had drematially improved.

Advantages: Great story line, and strategy invovled Disadvantages: graphics, but you'll get use to it
It won Game of the Year and definitly deserved it.
I very rarely play PC games, but several of my friends were all telling me how great it is so I decided to buy it. They were right, this is the best strategy game I've ever played.
I would like to give this game a 4 and a half stars - half for semi-lacking graphics(but still they are nice) but I rounded it up to 5.
