...unless I thought about my weight a bit more, I might as well. My Mum had been a Weight Watchers lecturer when she was younger, something I was reminded of when we found her ‘gold’ pin in her jewellery box, and people had mentioned the POINTS system to me before. ...a plethora of reviews of Weight Watchers, so I'll try to keep this one brief and personal. My review refers to the online version of the diet.
I joined Weight Watchers [henceforth referred to as 'WW'] several months ago following an unexpected weight gain which took me into the 'unhealthy' BMI range. ...the best way to loose weight was to find yourself some support, and to eat normal food in order to sustain the weight loss long-term.
It is 35 years since Weightwatchers was launched in the UK, and over 6,000 meetings are held each week across the country. There are many people who would say that it's the best way to loose weight AND keep it off, and I, as a long-time Weightwatcher would definitely agree.

Advantages: Support and encouragement from a group of people with a common aim. Disadvantages: In the long run can be quite expensive.
I joined Weight Watchers, not only for the obvious reason of wanting to lose weight, but also because I’d moved to a new area and thought it would be a good way to get out and meet people.

Only the people who run the meeting will know how much you weigh, so there’s no embarrassment. You are weighed each week, this and your weight loss (or gain) is then recorded on your card.
Each week there is a short meeting (usually 20-30 mins) after the weighing in. Sometimes this means waiting around, but I found ...
