    Bought this dishwasher as part of a new kitchen from Ikea. This is not a rant against Ikea because the cabinets and other appliances I bought from there were excellent quality and reasonably straight-forward to install. However, I feel this dishwasher is the exception and is a very poor design. As part of the installation (according to the instructions), you need to take apart the sides of the appliance to adjust the springs in the door.     We have owned this dishwasher for five years. It looks nice and it is slim and sleek, but those are the only redeeming features. We bought this dishwasher brand new and even though it is ikea as it is made by whirlpool we expected much better performance. Luckily we took out an extended warranty (five year cover) at the same time. It broke down once within the first year and then two more times afterwards- over the last five years it has needed a new control panel, new motor as well as other parts.
